BricksNStrings 231
This idea that she now "isolates" her straight fans is as ludicrous as people who say that gay marriage diminishes straight marriage. She has been "gay" from the beginning of her career, all of her 2008 and 2009 interviews she goes on and on about how the gay community is the only reason she's here, and that at first she said she was "too gay" to be mainstream. If anyone thinks "The Fame" is less of a gay album than BTW just bc she doesn't say the words gay or lesbian or transgender on it then they're kidding themselves. Electric Phire 98
She loves everyone. I don't think so, but maybe others do
Vernier 3,786
Firstly maybe your title should have been "straight male fans as they seem to be the ones feeling "isolated"? Secondly, don't project the public's stereotyping of a Gaga fan onto Gaga's actions. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
Ikvs 2,576
Poor them straight fans. Being BRUTALLY discriminated by a pop singer
CannaeDrive 3,412
I'm straight and I don't feel isolated, but maybe it's different for a straight male.Β No different, the gay thing seems only matter within the hardcore fan base were the gays are the most vocal. Sabertooth 2
During TFM, and esp. BTW she was just shouting GAY every other word ect. ARTPOP era doesn't seem to be anything about s-xuality, and it under-performed. (I'm scared lol)Β Β Thats fine, because she knows her main demographic, she appeals to it. ( Anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron.)Β Β If she said tomorrow " I HATE ALL GAY PEOPLE" She would lost like 60-70% of her demographic.Β
aaronyoji 2,054
ya know, she should really be more conscious of her straight fans, i mean they have no one else in pop music to represent their heteros-xual perspective and in tough times they turn to someone like gaga, and what does she do, alienate people with her gay talk and this and that about gay rights, flamboyancy, rejection of typical gender mannerisms and appearance, i mean ugh how dare she, these people have no one else to turn to for fux sake... Scrat 138
I guarantee that the percentage of straights at her concerts is much higher than what you see on forums. Β GGD is not as bad as it's controlled, but many pop forums gays treat more as a gay hookup club than a general pop forum for everybody. Β So yeah, unless you are very comfortable with yourself as a straight male and can tolerate gays treating everyone else like a gay man than a pop forum is not a place that many straight males will hang out much. Β The only thing that bugs me is when someone throws a a feminine term at me as a derogative... sis, or "hunty" or "girl", not only because I am none of those things, but also because gay men don't realize how often their own speech and shade techniques denigrate and belittle women. Β Thanks, I was about to say this.
GypsyHaus 0
Well I'm half straight myself and I guess half of me feels very isolated jk I'm bis-xual ;) back to the topic: I think the ARTPOP era isn't like that anymore. slΓΖΒ© answer :hor:
