Does Gaga isolate her straight fans?

I think any guy who listens to female pop singers is going to be considered gay (I really don't see how that's a bad thing, but that's besides the point.) especially if the interest extends beyond surface value.

My cousin likes Gaga but doesn't have any of her music on his devices for fear of being called out by his friends. I think it's ridiculous how someone will degrade you for the type of things you like when interests are only a minor detail of who you are.

Guys, I know a lot of you are giving examples of a lot of straight female fans, which is great, but that's not really what I mean. Let's see if I can explain:

If you're a guy and you're a Little Monster, many people assume you're gay.

If you're a girl and a Little Monster, people don't assume you're gay generally because the stereotypically gay woman is more 'butch' and 'masculine', in the same way that the stereotypical gay male is more 'feminine' or 'girly'. (obviously this is completely not true for everyone at all)

So a male person's interest in Lady Gaga makes people assume that they're more feminine, but a female's interest just makes them seem normal (ish!)

Does that make sense? I know this has nothing to do with Gaga 'isolating' (but I do feel that she does isolate straight MALES) but I just thought I should mention this :)

I guarantee that the percentage of straights at her concerts is much higher than what you see on forums.  GGD is not as bad as it's controlled, but many pop forums gays treat more as a gay hookup club than a general pop forum for everybody.  So yeah, unless you are very comfortable with yourself as a straight male and can tolerate gays treating everyone else like a gay man than a pop forum is not a place that many straight males will hang out much.

The only thing that bugs me is when someone throws a a feminine term at me as a derogative... sis, or "hunty" or "girl", not only because I am none of those things, but also because gay men don't realize how often their own speech and shade techniques denigrate and belittle women.

When I say I'm a Lady Gaga fan the first question that people ask me is: "Are you gay?" :flop: but I really don't know if she isolates her straight fans. i guess not

the scars on my mind are on replay.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Lady Gaga and everything to do with peoples' perception of male Lady Gaga fans.

Are you looking for affirmation from Gaga on your heteros-xuality?

hm yes and no. i don't think she intentionally does it... its a mix of her actions and the way her straight fans take it. I feel like what straight monsters feel is the same feeling us from the LGBT community feel 98% of the time with other artists, i wouldn't call it isolation tho.

I honestly don't think so. It was about time for someone to stand up for Gay rights and i'm glad she did. So if straight people felt isolated by that, i don't know what to say. She does what she believes in, and never discriminates between s-xualities and genders.

No I am not at all, but a lot of people are saying 'I'm a straight female and people don't think I'm gay because I like Gaga'. What I'm explaining is that it's more common to think that male gaga fans are gay rather than female. This has nothing to do with my OP, I just wanted to add my thoughts to the topic.

.

Hope this helped :)

I'm straight and I don't feel isolated a bit.  However, I can only speak for myself and no one else.
