Bebe 17,094
Nothing is "iconic" in this era. Even The Fame has iconic moments ffs. Right... Decades from now when Lady Gaga eventually passes away and the news scram to do retrospectives of her career they are going to completely ignore ARTPOP and pretend it didn't exist. They are going to have to show something... People are going to remember ARTPOP simply because it is connected with Lady Gaga. It's interesting to think about what they will remember. The raping of "iconic" in this thread Not really Gaga is an iconic artist. People are going to remember her and her work. What specifically do you disagree is iconic? What moments do you think will be considered iconic?

amenART 429
when she performed ARTPOP on Jimmy Fallon as her first 2014 performance when everyone was expecting her to perform G.U.Y.
True Blue 47
I think pretty much all have been mentioned. :) it is? I think maybe only in the USA. Not sure about worldwide. Although maybe when the tour hits other countries with those t-shirts. im not from the usa either and all my (non-gaga fans) friends say yaas too. ryhanna 3,507
"Iconic," to me, is something that people will think of right away when they hear Lady Gaga's name. Nothing from ARTPOP seems like it'd be remembered like that. If anything though, maybe the Applause video or Seashell girl look.
NxKxD 3
I fear that the only thing people will remember about ARTPOP is how it was labeled by basically everyone a "flop", "try hard record". I personally can't think about anything genuinely "iconic" except for the "YAAASS" thing

When I think Gaga the first thing that comes to mind is Bad Romance, the meat dress and the 2009/10 slayage. In my messy era.
ryhanna 3,507
The name of the album Ooh, quite possibly. When you hear the word "ARTPOP" you know straight away it's about Lady Gaga.
mic 1,415
The delusion here I'd say Swine sxsw since it was shocking.
ReRe 1,957
The following might not necessarily be iconic for the general public, but these moments are definitely iconic for the fanbase. Applause at the 2013 VMAs Swinefest. DWUW at the AMAs 2013. The SxSW Performance.

I personally can't think about anything genuinely "iconic" except for the "YAAASS" thing I don't think it will be remembered as a flop in the future. It's fashionable to label her as a flop now and compare her to Katy but when people look back on her career and they look at the performances and watch the music videos all anybody will see is talent. They are going to see the album in between Born This Way and Cheek to Cheek. They are going to see Koons sculptures, the Marina Abramovic Method, her Hearst Castle music videos, her documentary and her #1 album and they will label her as a visionary. Slayer 9,227
Nothing will be remembered from this era. Sorry. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

clefable 296
I think the VMA / Vomit Issue performances are the only things from that era is known amongst the general public and will be remembered (also YAAS thing is kinda famous ) yaass is actually a common phrase now even outside of this fanbase
