DogFood 1,649
Don't worry - these people are traveling on medical transport and will be in complete quarantine. Besides, Ebola is a very difficult disease to get since it's not airborne and you have to be in contact with the infected person's bodily fluids. Unless you have a family member or someone you're in close contact with who's been infected, you have almost no chance of getting it especially outside of Africa. Will the people that have been treating/transporting the person be quarantined MEGHAN TRAINOR | Katy Perry | Taylor Swift | Lady Gaga | Rihanna | Ariana Grande | Beyoncé | Nicki Minaj | Sam Smith

Toph 375
Bad move to be honest. Why even take the risk? What is worth the risk of possibly spreading this virulent pathogen? Excellent medical attention can be sent to the patient, rather than the patient sent to them... I don't understand Edited August 1, 2014 by Toph

ClapDown 0
Will the people that have been treating/transporting the person be quarantined They're being taken care of by the top medical personnel in the world, who I'm sure are following every safety procedure known to man, so there's really very little risk. Economy 52,861
Ebola unlike flu can only be transmited through fluids. If they take proper precautions the risk of an outbreak is very small
Economy 52,861
As a germophobe this sort of worries me but ebola only spreads through body fluids such as blood or vomit but it's still important for people to keep themselves clean and sanitized 24/7. Everyday we encounter and fight bacteria which is why I always make sure I live in a very clean environment, bring hand sanitizer with me everywhere, never shake hands with anyone (i prefer fist to fist), stay away from people that look sick, be careful where you eat/getting your food from (specifically outside)keep your mouth closed as much as possible because you never know whose gonna cough on you off guard, no kiss on the cheek (always thought that was gross) and make sure the person you are dating has great hygiene as well and you're all set thats very excessive Ur gonna build up like no immunity and one day when u catch something major ur body is gonna struggle to fight it! Miker 5,683
Who knows the real potential threat of this virus? It is risky at all levels and to think diseases are spread so easily at funeral gatherings is a concern. I don't trust anything I can't see such as viruses or microbes..... Mars..........or bust! Applause 650
Ebola virus is extremely contagious * , but scientists do not know exactly how it spreads. They do know that it can spread through direct contact with infected blood, especially on contaminated needles, and possibly through the nasal or respiratory secretions of someone who is infected. Health care workers and family members tending to the people who have the virus risk becoming infected. The needles used to take blood samples are an extreme biohazard * because accidental needle pricks to health care workers can transmit the infection to them. Traditions in some African cultures may contribute to the spread of Ebola virus. For example, some funeral rites require a ritual cleansing of the corpse, which can bring a loved one into contact with the blood or other body fluids of the deceased.
