Tropico 4,145
Two things: 1)People on here are MORE THAN excited. Everyone is hyping themselves (well not everyone) and like "Yaaass it's coming! Grammy 2 Grammy! Yaaaaaass". So I wouldn't say people are having a hard time accapting this album. 2)STOP with the let her voice shine thing. It's so cringeworthy. Her voice can shine through pop music too. It has and will. For example: Fashion! MTN, Bad Romance chorus, Aura Chrous, Born This Way. God some of the jazz fans here are so judgemental towards pop music it ain't even funny. :awkney: Everyone wants to seem so classy and diverse in music that they'll shade pop just to raise another genre. The Professor 1,060
Yes but there's only one confirmed original song. Its really just in the studio recording vocals not a whole creating process that she does with every album

God! I agree with this. People make it seem like electronic music is soulless and it's not as gaga said before. It's funny because I'm pretty sure most people hyping this jazz album probably weren't even jazz fans before and are now suddenly educated in that genre and feel the need to belittle electronic music
Altair 2,000
I really don't think people are being immature about this at all I just think some people like me don't really care for this album. Of course I'll listen to the songs and watch performances but it wont be anything exciting for me since most of the album is probably covers and in my honest opinion I don't think Gaga is really that good in jazz, she's just decent as opposed to someone like amy winehouse who excelled in that genre. I am looking forward for the songs she wrote like paradise. For now I'm only looking forward for her real next album. Couldn't have said it better myself :)
Mythos 3,199
Are people really that excited? Hmm, maybe cause i am not that into jazz but i don't care at all tbh. Yes, she sounds amazing, like that last Video where she got standing ovation, but i just can't listen to it often, maybe once a month and i've enough. So i kinda hope it just a side project which she will put so much energy as possible, but i want her to concentrate on her own music as soon as possible, plz. Americano 31,061
It's not a side project, I agree with the original poster. I see it from the other side too, though, since people are just used to her pop releases. I do think it'll go platinum in the US, which isn't something I'd personally call a side job. ELECTRAHEARTPOP 93
I'm very excited and passionate about Jazz music also, so I completely agree with your sentiments and think everyone should appreciate Gaga's hard work and happiness at having this chance. Just because it's not dance music doesn't mean it's boring.

They're like "You should really open up to more music tastes. *insert more pretentious wannabe jazz stan stuff.*" I can't at people thinking all pop is basic and souless and doesn't "showcase Gaga's vocals". ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Azor Ahai 18,861
It's a side project but that doesnt mean it's any less important /thread
Americano 31,061
I also enjoy her pop and her jazz stuff, so for me I'm looking at it as another full album. But different tastes for different people, nothing wrong with varying opinions!

Yeah when in reality her best performances vocally were her doing pop songs like paparazzi acoustic, vmas 09, edge of glory howard stern etc. I also think "some" fans only care about this album so that she can play it safe and win a grammy just because tony is part of the album and he wins big a lot (even though I doubt this album will really get any grammys). I'm not negative on Gaga I just view this album as a side project and she's already talked about her next album after cheek to cheek.
Poker 3,740
I think this album is very important for Gaga. Kindness rules all.
