artpopmess 369
I don't think Iggy is anything special. Her performances are not great and her videos are nothing too special The not so subtle racism though Educate yourself don't follow my instagram (trying out reverse psychology)
Foivos 64
Except Gaga smashed 3074 times more than Iggy
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Yes to very few of this list. Its a stretch. Her MV's are great though :) Not as creative as Gagas, but certainly better than most people out there atm. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Bebe 17,094
Educate yourself Really? You just used a term that originated as a way to describe poor white people who didn't own African slaves. They were not the "real" white people. They were essentially white people who had the same economic status as, or behaved like, the minorities of the time who were mainly black people. The idea behind calling someone "white trash" specifically is to describe them as someone who is white, but acts trashy. The clear implication is that what is unusual is not that the person is trashy, but that they're a white person who is trashy--or, in other words, that non-whites are expected to act that way, but white people ought to know better. You assigned the term "white trash" to Iggy because she "sings hip-hop". Because she participates black music she is white trash? It's offensive. Mostly to African Americans who are being told that they are trash and that their culture is trash. Educate yourself boo.
CHANTEL 2
i dont see the similarities. most of the things youve listed apply to lots of popstars. this
cosmicPOPdream 4
I could definitely see it, career wise. I love Iggy and her rise to superstardom really does rival Gaga's. Her videos are also INCREDIBLE ex: Bounce, Work, Fancy etc.
elijahfan 26,238
Gaga writes her own songs, Iggy doesn't. /thread
Mills 446
Even though they have some similarities, I believe they aren't strong enough for a parallel comparison in terms of how their solo career started. Or even the physical attributes, which could also be said towards other female artists. I'd rather compare Gaga to Fergie. Both had a #1 debut single, a #2 debut album on the Billboard 200 which both ended up being sleeper smashes. Gaga and Fergie are also among the very few artists whose debut studio solo albums produced multiple HOT 100 #1 singles. Both are also under the Interscope Geffen A&M umbrella label. Both debut albums also featured collaborations with hip-hop artists. When it comes to new artists who came into the spotlight this decade, I honestly couldn't find anyone whose debuts could be compared to Gaga. Gaga's debut was just massive, if not the latest among the few female artists who started HUGELY successful. And that's the reason she's often compared to the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Beyonce - all of which also debuted big as solo acts. Dangerous Man 9,245
Don't compare Gaga with... who dat, who dat? Who dat who dat? Iggy's impact is real omg. She's already having cultural impact I see. :applause: "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
StefJAGermanotta 2
OP--spot on re:their similarities. I don't know if Iggy has that charisma that Gaga has? Gaga is able to command attention and is born to perform. I dragged my friend to the Katy Perry movie and he said that Gaga can command more attention than Katy even if Gaga wore a sack, and he couldn't keep his eyes off her when we saw her live. t don't quite see that with Iggy, but I can be totally wrong. If Iggy has Gaga's level of charisma and the ability to command and own the stage, she will smash like Gaga.
