A fact about BTW and ARTPOP

Born This Way is dark, heavy, loud. It has a bold message and as people said here, it kinda drains the energy away. It feels like old retro dance record filled with rock influences but at the same time it sounds timeless. I can say that BTW was pop record that was truly different than anything released at that time.

 

ARTPOP is light, fun, loud. It doesn't have a particular message or a theme but it manages to work as a whole. It's definately a lot easier to listen comparing to BTW. ARTPOP is a lot more electronic, more modern sounding but we are yet to see how will this record age. Comparing to the stuff that is on radio, it isn't a lot different but it's still original sounding and has a Gaga flavour to it. I think that "mistake" with ARTPOP is that label somehow forced Gaga to create a bit more "mainstream" sound (since BTW was way too experimental for radio, even now) and she had to compromise. Also, ARTPOP sounds rushed sometimes. Gaga should've given more time to work on this album, but still, it's a great album filled with fun, party beats and definitely a little fresh air after heavy BTW.

 

If Venus is the last song that was created for ARTPOP, then I'm really interested about new future material. I think Gaga did a decent job as a producer, and she should definitely embarace production, but still keep her main focus to songwritting. Since she said that C2C will be the end of her beggining, I'm expecting something crazy to be released in the future. I see ARTPOP as some kind of a "goodbye" to the first part of Gaga's career and a celebration of all of the success she had. New things are on the way, so in the meantime we can jam to TF, TFM, BTW and AP and just celebrate and spread positivity.

I agree 100%.

I LOVE both albums. They are also my favourite Gaga albums.

But, to give an example, when I am doing homework I prefer to have Pure Heroine playing because it feels more relaxing, while BTW and ARTPOP are too noisy for that.

I want to recall that BTW and ARTPOP are x1000 times better than Pure Heroine. (Imo)
