Benji 20,113
DWUW is not even like the rest of ARTPOP, it's arguably RnB of the last decade I agree. Don't compare this song though, compare the song sthta make the skeleton of the album. Ok... G.U.Y. sounds like it walked out of 2012 Sexxx Dreams is slow and could even be called dull, perfect background noise Jewels N' Drugs... I'm not even beginning with this. MANiCURE sounds like a "rock" track from a Bratz movie ARTPOP lacks a climax and just kind of floats along, nothing ear catching. Swine sounds like a lot of dance music except it never raises the roof at any point, it builds to a breakdown that is the definition of lacklustre Donatella just sounds like any Zedd song Fashion! sounded like Daft Punk's new material and was then stripped into a duller version Mary Jane Holland just sounds like a madeon track Gypsy is The Edge of Glory 2.0 with an acoustic guitar Applause is pretty different but not extraordinary, still fits in with a lot radio's pop/dance music. Just clarifying to anyone else who is reading this, I do like ARTPOP but it's a party/fun album.. it's not hard to approach.

I agree about the Zedd tracks but most of the excuses are ridiculous to the very least.

Read it, I even posted saying I agreed with your statements about Born This Way but disagree about ARTPOP Yes because you have presented evidence for all of your opinions. Turn the radio on and listen, you'll hear a lot more ARTPOP-esque tracks than anything remotely like Born This Way. I found you one with striking similarities and you tried to dismiss it as it not counting, I think you're just more in denial (source: see previous comments) than really putting any facts behind your statements. I will obviously hear more tracks that approach ARTPOP that tracks that approach BTW obviously. BTW has 80s influences while ARTPOP is mainly EDM of our age with some futuristic elements. Still you will not find something similar to ARTPOP. You will find a lot of EDM obviously yeas but every song on ARTPOP makes a different when you put it netxt to the other songs of the top 40. As for DWUW I told you from the beginning that the song has nothing to do with the rest of ARTPOP. Judas is like BAd Romance as well but it doesn't change anything. We're not going to agree on this so I'm going to leave you to continue to think what you do Maybe the radio is drastically different where you live or you don't listen to it very much, ARTPOP sounds like Gaga's most radio friendly album just behind The Fame. I actually agree on that. Radio firendly doesn't mean that it is similar to the songs played on radio, it seems that it is made to fit well on radio. TF wasn't similar to was on radio back then either. Till then RnB was rulling the top 40 the last decade till Gaga came. You just answered by yourself. And I agree that this isn;t leading anywhere, I'm tired.
Brooke Hoegan 1,018
because they have really bad mixed songs if you look at the "sound clouds/ranges" (in Audacity or even at Soundcloud) of some ARTPOP/BTW songs, their areas are very similiar to the rectangles with the height at the maximum - it means they are constantly noisy + almost 100% homogenous, even dull and humdrum :( I really hope Gaga would reconsider working with some people for her next albums... I mean she can have the best producers in the world, she has the money !!! and producers have the real impact on the record, noone can deny it her career is too much leaning on her good heart and friendships... TINgaga 0
I like BTW more than ARTPOP . BTW is very pop but ARTPOP is very dance electro and heavy beats. For me,Applause is the one and only successful single on ARTPOP. Gaga can do way more better than what she did with ARTPOP. I cant imagine Sexxx dreams playin on the radio or Jewels N' Drugs. I rarely see G.U.Y on mtv,mtvm24,mtv dance, mtv hits etc... Shes not even nominated for vma awards...

All of these are so broad, how do you expect people to take your opinion seriously when your argument is something like "it sounds like a Madeon track." Well of course it sounds like a Madeon track (but in fact it doesn't really), he produced the damn thing. G.U.Y. walked out of 2012? What group of mainstream artists or hit songs does it compare most to? :) Gypsy does sound like TEOG. Then again bad Romance had the same structure as PF and Judas. But that isn't the question at hand. Gaga sounds like Gaga, but Gaga does NOT sound like your run of the mill EDM. Production? Maybe, but the whole package is not typical. It's very Gaga. Your oversimplification is insulting.

It's too late here to write out a huge reply, respect my opinion and I'll respect your wrong one If you're insulted because I don't put an album (I do happen to like) on an as high peddle stall as you then you need to re-asses things. Wet Fire 7,501
Thanks to you I just realized I've been feeling this thing for a long time too  You definitely need to be in right mood to listen to BTW and ARTPOP. And I cannot tolerate noise around while listening to these 2 albums.
Miel 15,009
I see where OP is coming from, but I feel like ARTPOP is a lot easier to digest than Born This Way, if we're talking sonics alone. 3 points in and ready for more
