I don't know what news you've been following but not a single national news source is solely focusing on just the Dutch on board, they practically always mention all the other nationalities. The fact they talk a bit more about the impact on the Dutch is because it was a flight by a Dutch airliner as well as a Malaysian one and thus a Dutch KLM flight was taken down + the government and companies/officials have explaining to do to Dutch citizens and the people that stay behind, of course you'll hear more about this when people from your country were involved, quite an ognorant comment by Elizabeth :dead:

She's talking about Australian media. I've read a few Australian articles, and nowhere did they mention the nationalities from other countries.

Also ignorant is to say something like #PrayForMalaysia. About 15% of the people were Malaysian..

Ban Ki Moon for example said something along the lines of 'and we should give all of our love to the Malaysian families and friends of the people who have lost somebody, but he didn't mention the Filippino, Indonesian, Australian, Canadian, Dutch, etc. families and friends of people who have died..

Anyways, a classmate of somebody I know died in this aircrash. So sad..

This is horrible. :(

"A "working theory" in the U.S. intelligence community is that the Russian military supplied a Buk surface-to-air missile system to the rebels, a senior defense official told CNN. The official would not discuss the specific intelligence that is leading to this assessment. U.S. intelligence and military a--lysts are also scrutinizing video apparently showing a Buk system being driven back across the Russian border after Thursday's crash, the official said."

This truly does change everything. It now shifts the issue from airline security to airline defense... if they can shoot down aircrafts from the ground, it takes out the whole process of getting onto the planes. If these separtists obtained these weapons (giving the Russian Federation the benefit of the doubt), who's to say al-Qaeda can't obtain similar weapons and enter the United States and sit in Oklahoma City and shoot down anything that flies over?

Rest in peace to all who perished. I can't believe this is still happening in 2014. People are ****ed up.

Bringing this to Oklahoma City is kind of impossible

Although I agree airlines should now look at possible defenses for air lines (maybe flares on all aircraft). The chances of terrorists obtaining that kind of hardware is not likely.

Russia did give the "separatists" the hardware. These are highly advances anti-air machines, only major countries make them (US, Russia, Israel, UK). Also these machines require HIGHLY TRAINED personnel. They aren't just toy rockets. They go very fast and reach altitudes higher than an other machine. There is no doubt Russia has blame for this. It WAS the machine they made and their trained troops. No terrorist would know how to operate it correctly for a direct hit so high.

OK. Russia is related to it and supported the separatists with weapons. They are to blame a big part on the Ukrainian situation.
There are absolutely no excuses for it, and it shouldn't happen.

I just want to state this: USA basically destroyed the whole country of Iraq (Serbia, Vietnam, 2 Japan atomic bombs, etc.), yet no one introduced any sanctions. This just shows that a big one is feared and respected. No one would dare to say anything about USA, just saying :wtf:

None of these countries had the rights to do what they did, but let's not act like USA is an angel either, who did much more mess worldwide than USSR/Russia :wtf:
