In Telephone, Beyonce frees her, and the two murder an entire diner full of people before running away together. Telephone has a very dark meaning of emotional and creative block. She doesn't want to exert energy, think, or talk to anyone because her of her mind block. The music video suggests Gaga is a psychopath who hasn't murdered in a long time and is beginning to feel under pressure. Upon reaching rock bottom, the one thing that kept Gaga going is a loving family, boyfriend, and fanbase. Their applause is what aided her in returning to power after a devastating injury. Their applause is also why she loves her work and keeps making her music- there is no better feeling than knowing you have pleased your loved ones.
