LilVenusian 579
Is it because she's not the "it girl" anymore and that every she does is no longer shocking people as they already have in mind that Gaga would still try to shock, so it's kinda expected? Spot on. Too many shocking antics and crazy costumes at once was kind of a bad idea, she didn't pace herself and ended up blowing her load to early, so to speak
VforVendetta 2,024
The question in the thread asks why ARTPOP didn't do as well, and i said because the music on ARTPOP wasn't good (and i'm not the only one who thinks so). this is my opinion, and you don't have to like it. you should however respect it. no need for sarcasm. this forum is turning into a place where people don't want to write because people like you attack everyone. we can agree to disagree and call it a day. I didn't attack anyone and I didn't even use sarcasm, I said what I wanted straight. People actually don't want to post in here because of all the negativity. At least if you want to complain in every thread about ARTPOP think about it twice. After all since you posted your opinion you should expect a disagreement, this is the point of opinions. crownlessking 158
But gosh she knew Katy was about to release something, maybe not the same day but in that time, she should have seen it. And yes, I'm not complaining about some things like the gay support, I'm not gay but I'm really happy she did it cause BTW is such a powerful album, I'm just saying the reasons why I think it happened. And I actually think ARTPOP is really worse than BTW and above all TFM, her composition skills are definitely the best ones in this album but for me it's disappointing cause of the production, I'm one of those who thinks she had a different album with songs in the style of Aura (experimental but still catchy) but her record told her to re-make it and change the production. I think it's true for some reasons, like, for example, she said she was gonna show the album to her record around 11 months before the release so... And she was really excited with songs like Tea that surprisingly never made the final cut while other ones as Donatella (that we never heard of till a few weeks before the release) How would she have seen it? Katy was just waiting for her to release it and copied her tbh. The rest of my post (about gay support etc) wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at the OP who asked for the reasons why she's "decayed". But yeah, I agree, that theory seems plausible.
Andy McQueen 4,484
In my opinion, she hasn't, so I don't understand all this fuss at all tbh. But I never cared about sales anyway and I'm glad she thinks the same way ...
djBuffoon 12,120
Still not sure why we keep perpetuating this conversation. Granted, here I am responding to it, but more out of frustration at this point. Unless there is someone on this board who has the ability to make some sort of difference in Gaga or the course of her career, we're just spinning our wheels and bringing up nonconstructive argument. Just my two cents.

ReRe 1,957
It's a phase which every revolutionary artist goes through TBVH. Easy: she lost her GP s-x appeal and became too weird and gay-oriented for them. It is not cool to listen to Gaga anymore (it is changing after ARTPOP however). She should keep her straights on a leash like Rihanna does. This. Her lyrics need to be more relatable, and her imagery should be more accessible, on which she evidently worked on in the G.U.Y. video.
OrphanBlack 0
Oh lord another one of these threads. Can people please start a conversation about something new. Besides, Gaga has plenty of years in her career left to fully reinvent her sound and her image and eventually it will click since she's a beautiful, talented, smart and creative woman who knows what she needs to do to accomplish whatever she needs to do to get what she wants. I find it funny how people assume that she isn't self aware of everything that's going on, like she's just sitting on Taylor's dick while playing with Asia as her career "decays" (that word is so overused tbh). She knows exactly ha the management hasn't been the best, that scheduling conflicts and lack of promo have affected her commercial performance and blah blah blah. The music is still good. Her public image and her rep are what make people view her work as worse than it actually is. (The reverse is also true ex. Everyone was hyped about Adele's 21 but it wa just another soul pop album. Her image is what sold those 30 million albums). Cheek to Cheek will be the beginning of her reinvention because it will change the public perception of her an her talent. (I hate to make this comparison but it's effect will be similar to lMadonna's Bedtime Stories Era). Also within the next few years a number of things will happen to her that will force her to push herself as an artist and thus reinvent herself: She'll be turning thirty, a peculiar age for women in general and women in entertainment (take this statement however you please), she'll likely get married to Taylor, a big step in her personal life, and lastly she'll be really reflective on he past because of these changes and reevaluate what she really wants out of her music and life and she'll also think about the future more (which is tied to the pervious two points.) just my two cents. Again. Stop these foolish threads. I'm done :coffee:
BloodyM 1,256
Spot on. Too many shocking antics and crazy costumes at once was kind of a bad idea, she didn't pace herself and ended up blowing her load to early, so to speak I totally understand agree. Even the whole change of look for every single, it was too quick. Don't get me wrong, i always loved and looked forward to her changing image but 1 look should have lasted for a whole album, that way the load would have taken its time to blow haha. LittleBoot 27
She fell off the public radar (I prefer to phrase it that way) because her creative focus and music became less relatable to most people. She'll keep a loyal core of fans. I guess the question becomes whether or not she wants to appeal to a broader audience or not. She'd probably have to give up some creative license if so. GagaisHotAF 419
Tbh I still have a lot of friends who dig Lady Gaga and are like "OMG she is awesome" I even have a few friends who have illegal downloads of ARTPOP..... But I mean what did you expect? Over exposure to small exposure results on not as big results. But there were still great! Probably on Grindr
