Levine 23,573
What's wrong with the hype? If it comes from fans, who the hell cares? The army was hyped when britney was going to release a ****ing song for the ****ing Smurfs and we can't be hyped for a new, whole album? Y'all are terrorized by the "hype" because of what happened with BTW, but that was Gaga's fault. Fans hyping **** it's normal and will be always like this. RAMROD 109,537
LOL why so pessimistic, you migjy be just pressed Gaga is venturing out of her comfort zone and it scares you thinking how she will do some more of this shall C2C well received by the masses. People not here for Jazz? By people, I suppose you.mean you and your crowds, yes? Matter of fact, Jazz are very well received, especially by adult audience. Do you even familiar with Jazz scene in the first place to make such claim? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ dancin' until i'm dead (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
MikeGoneGaga 86
I likes Jazz. I'm hyped for music. :)

aaronyoji 2,054
like i said, those focusing on gaga's reputation and chart success and viewing this side album as a "comeback" are al doing a disservice to the whole reason gaga is doing this to begin with. this is her moment to grow as an artist, not get the lame-stream to like her again so that her bratty fans can have vapid validation.... SpadesToStart 3,460
3) Doesnt do as well commercially and critically: OMG, I miss fun pop Gaga. ARTPOP at least was fun, and not boring like C2C. At least she had one hit single like Applause. I see where you're coming from, but if the entire album sounds like 'The Lady is a Tramp' and 'Lush Life', it's certainly going to do well critically. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
I don't think anyone's expecting major success from this album, I haven't seen that at least. It's more of a side-project, basically a full length album version of her 2011 Thanksgiving special. If it goes platinum and wins a Grammy or two that would just be a nice bonus for her. Batwings 12,885
What annoys me is how some people are being absolutely ridiculous with their expectations. Some fans seem to think that C2C is going to be the equivalent of ARTPOP Act II with pop songs and a little bit of jazz. Others seems to think that it's going to be a straight-up Gaga album with a few songs featuring Tony. Some are even talking about a huge tour to support the album. I mean, seriously, it's no wonder this fanbase complains so damn much when they overhype themselves and perpetuate unrealistic expectations.

mic 1,415
She should do music for the charts. She creates the best things when doing that. Just Dance, PF, BR, Alejandro and all the others. When she's making art... Well, look at the chart position of G.U.Y. I'm not hyped for C2C bcause Jazz is not my type of music, but I would love to hear Jazz versions from ha older songs. Like the Applause on some TV-show I cant rember. And please do not attack me, I am entitled to my own opinion. Finally someone tells the truth. She's pop artist and I expect her to make hits, her artistic aspirations are cute but just lil crippled in practice. C2C is a cool side project but I have completely no expectations regarding it. I mean ppl love electronic, futuristic and high fashion- freak vocalist who is Gaga, do you think they will buy her standing beside microphone and singing jazz classics? I don't think so sadly, but at least she will show her talent to the world.
Willy Wonka 4
You can not bring me down. I am so excited. This is just another opportunity for her to prove herself vocally. I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it.
LittleBoot 27
Fans and music enthusiasts having excitement for the MUSIC of an upcoming album is great. But hyping something to the sky, counting potential grammys and tacking on career implications to it before it's even out and all said and done has been one of the reasons why Gaga got the backlash that she did. Good: I can't wait to hear this album, I love her singing voice. It will really show her singing talent. Not so good: people like Friedman writing things like "Gaga is about to have a massive success and a huge career change" or Paul Moss "this could bring back Gaga"....or fans that speculate what kind of awards it would bring in -- things that hype potential career or critical achievements (as opposed to the music itself) can often have the opposite effect and just irritate people. It's better to just appreciate what the artist actually brings to the table -- not what it means for their career. That would just take care of itself. I think C2C will probably only have modest commercial success as a jazz album, because it's really more of a side project than what she's really known for. But I think given her talent and Tony's widespread appeal, it will get decent reviews by critics -- which, at the end of the day, are just opinions on something that's subjective. People can decide for themselves either way.
Wet Fire 7,495
I agree to some extent. But the critics won't view her as a 'pretentious attention seeker' anymore with jazz. Her voice has already made some head turn towards her for better. Jazz album are never made for commercial success. The critics know that. So not all of them would blame Gaga for decaying. Plus, it's about her voice, a very powerful, raw, professionally artistic voice. It will outshine 'success'. No mattr she 'flops' or not it will be a positive era. It won't blow up charts coz it might not be pop. But the GP isn't here for pop all the time from a pop star. Sometimes people like to see an artist reinvent her musicality. Gaga is reinventing her image and music through Cheek to Cheek. "You can't stop my voice 'cause you don't own my life" - guess she was right.
GagaDragon 10
Only an idiot would compare C2C to ARTPOP, though i wouldn't put it passed the fandom if they did.
ByeBye49 161
IDGAF about charts anymore, I'm all here for less auto tuned vocals that will give critics nothing to say about her not being able to sing -_-
