Fame IV 4,426
I think she referred to "ARTFLOP" not because of low success, but because many were denying in the success of the concept. She explained what ARTPOP means prior to writing this post. So she's like ARTFLOP my ðss, the concept works! And creative rebellion is suited with ART in POP music, because the industry does not want art to be there, but she is rebellious and teaches art on the pop platform Exacly And more important, some fans didn't notice, but Gaga made pop culture discuss art, which is important A Star is Born ⭐

Katy Perry Wants to Become an Art CollectorMove over, Lady Gaga. Looks like another pop icon is ready to sink her teeth into the contemporary art scene.http://news.artnet.com/in-brief/katy-perry-wants-to-become-an-art-collector-8489http://www.complex.com/art-design/2014/04/katy-perry-is-a-fan-of-art-history-and-wants-to-collect-someday The singer is learning about becoming an art collector, with the help of Beverly Hills gallerist Marc Selwyn. Selwyn is introducing Katy to Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, James Turell, and Jeff Koons, and she is loving it.http://popdust.com/2014/04/01/katy-perry-art-collector/ FreePalestine

But it became a business industry. She writes some of her music, maybe she'll get inspired by art. Or at least embody art in her future era like Gaga did. Nothing wrong with it, we know whose impact this is Only kudos to her for learning about art

popper 3
2 of which had moderate success. Not "very well". She let herself down this era. The looks, music, style, performances, etc aren't as good as in the past. She needs to step up her game. Moderate success? Applause stayed in the top 10 for 14 consecutive weeks selling over 2m in US. DWUW sold over 1m with no video. I agree this era is messy but I think the music, look and performances were good. The promotion and the last minute changes with the singles was just a huge mess

Duella Dvil 10,514
The whole point of ARTPOP is ART as POP CULTURE meaning; to make talking points and start narratives based on the subjective opinion of the viewing audience. She made pieces that were open to interpretation, she made pieces that were awful, she made pieces that were beautiful. Most importantly she created and we and the REST of the world observed, talked and shared an interest in her exhibition of her ART.Also vice versa pop culture as art www.instagram.com/theduella666
