No, Gaga's end of the year depression, lack of a video release, disappearance for two months and then lack of promo before, during and after is what killed the era. Judas itself was not a safe single, it was safe-protected from the fact it was riding off the hype of Born This Way. If it, as a single, was so 'safe', why did it only go to #8 when TEOG was #3? Are you gonna tell me TEOG was a risky experimental anthem? If Venus stayed the official second single we would have had a music video and a overall better planned era. Do What U Want ruined the era by being rush released only to get more money, when in reality it was just the beginning of the end for her and for ARTPOP. Venus is so experimental that it wouldn't have even mattered whether it was well planned or not. DWUW rode off all of Venus's planned promo positions and then some, and had the amazing AMA performance. That single actually got a lot of promo. It went #13 without a video. Reverse the G.U.Y and Venus single release times and you'd see that G.U.Y has more sales than Venus. It's not the song, it was the promo single status. Venus has been milked almost as dry as the desire for it to become a single. Just let it go. Gypsy and Sexxx Dreams deserve it more anyway, especially the latter. Aura weird and experimental? She needs to expand her sound more, and a song like Venus does not show her versatility as a writer and singer. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
