Giorno Giovanna 3,178
Nnnn all of you stop it. I see his point. Also just realized an eerie similarity in the themes of the singles... 1st single: Applause vs Gimme More (Giving me that thing that I love) 2nd single: Do What U Want vs Piece of Me (Surviving when everyone takes parts of you) I see it Finally, someone who got it, you found even more similarities, thanks このジョルノジョヴァンナ夢がある
Pain of fame1 226
I get your point and I love the album, but are you comparing ARTPOP cover with that paint fanmade joke? Are you from spain?
Weasel 12,525
It is her blackout era actually, but not in relation with Britney
djBuffoon 11,754
But Blackout isn't underrated, it's Britneys critically most acclaimed album. On Metacritic, both Blackout and ARTPOP share a score of 61. :coffee:
Oscar 1,031
I do understand but I do not agree. I think ARTPOP and Blackout are unique in their own respective ways :)

Valextra 58
No in my opinion because the Britney one was more messy and catastrophic ;)
djBuffoon 11,754
Blackout actually has a consistent sound and theme though, something ARTPOP could have done with It amuses me when fans act like Gaga's other albums stuck to one particular sound (because they didn't). Regardless, it's impossible to mix up any two ARTPOP tracks, and I prefer it that way.

Voltaic 25
Britney's Blackout is her best album. And it's much better than ARTPOP. And it's unbelievable how good the album was COMPARED to her mental state.. But honestly those albums are different and under totally different reasons. Blackout felt like a real serious shady dark album. ARTPOP is just art and pop blending or something like that.

That's amusing I prefer something to tie the tracks together, as long as it isn't "anything"
Guest
No, its Gaga's ARTPOP.
djBuffoon 11,754
You can't hear similarities and an overarching theme in TF's tracks, TFM's tracks, BTW's tracks? That's amusing Nice attempts at being cheeky.... Similarities, yes. Consistent, no. "Teeth" to "Telephone" to "Dance in the Dark". "Paper Gangsta" to "Paparazzi" to "Brown Eyes". "Fashion of His Love" to "Judas" to "Edge of Glory". A broad spectrum of ideas and sounds. On every album. With ARTPOP, there is a propensity for hard, speaker-rattling, electronic sounds. The same effect is in more than half of the tracks, and that's good enough for me. And notice how I said nothing about themes, yet you addressed it anyway ;) nonetheless, ARTPOP does indeed have at least one theme. It doesn't cease to have one just because you haven't found it.
