They usually only see the stuff that is picked up by massmedia, like the meatdress or the fact that she was puked on. God forbid they ever show a few seconds of her singing her ass off. Whenever I edit a segement for our show about a music artist, I always make sure to not just focus on the 'talked about' moments, but also the music and theirs views on their work. Even with artists I don't like. I once even made a segment about Gaga's most popular songs and I added quotes of her explaining what they're actually about. My mom doesnt like that she "dresses weird" and stuff, it took ARTPOP to make her a Little Monster..
