Me neither, especially not with a jazz album lol. When's the last time you heard a jazz song on radio? Anyways, it's better than articles bashing her I guess

Success =/= a hit on Pop radio.

There are other ways to be successful as a musical artist. Maybe they are talking about respect and recognition from her peers and from the industry.

Cautious about the tour because it'll probably be in theaters and I'm not here for rabid fans being there

Who cares? A mix of Pop/Jazz fans would be interesting. Life is about trying new things. Sometimes, when two different worlds come together, you get the best results!

You would be surprised...most people are more open minded than what you see on ATRL or GGD. Don't use a bunch of overly obsessed, Pop Diva warriors as your reference point for how people think and act in the real world.

Lady Gaga About to Have Huge Career Change, Biggest Success Yet

http://www.showbiz411.com/2014/07/02/lady-gaga-about-to-have-huge-career-change-biggest-success-yet-watch

Lady Gaga is officially out there somewhere, on her ARTPOP tour. But she just played the Montreal Jazz Fest with Tony Bennett, singing “Lush Life.†Watch the video below. She will blow you away. Gaga is about to have a massive success and a huge career change come September when her jazz duets album with Tony Bennett is released. I’m not sure anyone realizes what this is going to do for her. For Tony, turning 87. of course, it’s another “day at the office.†The album will make the Grammy deadline of September 30th. I wouldn’t be surprised if it wins Album of the Year in February 2015. Big, big stuff this fall for this duo. PS I am told she will be dressed “elegantly†with Bennett on tour, no eggs, no meat dresses. It’s going to be about her Voice.

I think it's interesting that Gaga threaded through the idea of seeing her behind the wigs and makeup, etc. throughout the ARTPOP era, but it was very inconsistent and the costumes and wig changes did not stop.  Plus she was still making dance pop/electronic music - highly visual - so a stripped down Gaga didn't really fit at all with what she was doing.

However - this era is a chance to actually do just that.  She could have done it without Tony, but there's something about working with thim that add an air of authenticity to the work.  It's exciting that the world will get to see her this way.

Radio isn't everything, and if she plays her cards right she could totally make this album crossover. Who would've thought a song like Rolling in the Deep would hit it so big. Pop music is recent years has catered to kids, but there's been a recent push to get adults back in the mix. If the American contemporary crowd gets into this album along with her pop fanbase it will be has huge as they're predicting.

Nice to see them appreciating her voice, but I feel like all we're gonna get now is-

HEAR THE REAL LADY GAGA! NO MEAT DRESSES, NO EGGS, NO CONTROVERSY! THE VOICE BEHIND THE GIMMICKS!

Like, I understand so much of her career was "gimmicks", but she's been talented before that. The fact that people had to strip away the theatrics and all of that to truly see her talent kind of disconcerts me.

It's like they were too obtuse to see the talent along with the theatrics.

totally agree. its like they chose to be deaf/in denial.

back to the jazz album: im not gonna get my hopes up in terms of its success. if it does well and receives critical acclaim great. im just excited to hear the album because that performance last night blew me away. and im not usually into jazz.

If the album sounds as good as Robert Plant and Allison Krauss' Rising Sand(which won AOTY and multiple Grammys), this could be a very successful album.

Let's not hype ourselves just yet, or we're going to be disappointed... Let's see the music first

That's what I was trying to say earlier. It's like she has to look elegant and beautiful for people to hear how amazing her voice and how talented she is which is sad.
