lego 44,165
Over 10,000 Turn Out to Tel Aviv Peace Rally http://www.commondreams.org/news/2014/08/17/over-10000-turn-out-tel-aviv-peace-rally More than ten thousand of Israelis turned out Saturday night in Tel Aviv demanding peace talks with the Palestinian Authority. The peaceful rally was the largest demonstration in Israel since it launched operation "Protective Edge on July 8, an offensive that has seen at least 1,980 Palestinian deaths and 67 on the Israeli side. It was organized by the progressive Meretz party and Peace Now, an activist group opposed to Jewish settlement building on occupied territory. Protesters also expressed anger at the Netanyahu government, chanting “Bibi, go home!†The Jerusalem Post reported: Meretz leader MK Zehava Gal-On said Netanyahu should quit because he failed in his attempts to bring quiet to the South, despite having a “blank check†to act for five years. She said Israel would do better to lift the blockade on Gaza, end the occupation of Palestinian territories and return to negotiations that extend beyond a cease-fire. “You could have achieved the framework you are willing to accept now without paying the price of 64 dead soldiers and the deaths of civilians,†Gal-On told Netanyahu. The crowd shouted “Bibi go home.†...Against the backdrop of the Tel Aviv Municipality building, lit up as an enormous Israeli flag, people carried signs reading, “Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies,†and “When there is no peace, war comes.†From the Times of Israel: Author David Grossman addressed the crowd, and said that Israelis “are losing our home to fanaticism and internal hatred.†“Dangerous movements are coming to pass in Israel because of the despair, the anxiety, nationalism and racism erupting all at once,†he said. “Not one word of condemnation has been uttered by the prime minister. It will be very difficult to rein in the dark forces. I’m concerned that the leaders enjoyed seeing the Left held hostage, but this tide will turn against them when they appear too moderate. These processes and phenomena will unfortunately turn Israel into a radical, militant, xenophobic cult, isolated and ostracized.†Uh oh, so it's not ''only 500'' anymore, ha. lego 44,165
The secret report that helps Israel hide facts The slickness of Israel's spokesmen is rooted in directions set down by the pollster Frank Luntz There is a reason for this enhancement of the PR skills of Israeli spokesmen. Going by what they say, the playbook they are using is a professional, well-researched and confidential study on how to influence the media and public opinion in America and Europe. Written by the expert Republican pollster and political strategist Dr Frank Luntz, the study was commissioned five years ago by a group called The Israel Project, with offices in the US and Israel, for use by those "who are on the front lines of fighting the media war for Israel". The booklet is full of meaty advice about how they should shape their answers for different audiences. For example, the study says that "Americans agree that Israel 'has a right to defensible borders'. But it does you no good to define exactly what those borders should be. Avoid talking about borders in terms of pre- or post-1967, because it only serves to remind Americans of Israel's military history. Particularly on the left this does you harm. For instance, support for Israel's right to defensible borders drops from a heady 89 per cent to under 60 per cent when you talk about it in terms of 1967." ... Dr Luntz cites as an example of an "effective Israeli sound bite" one which reads: "I particularly want to reach out to Palestinian mothers who have lost their children. No parent should have to bury their child." The study admits that the Israeli government does not really want a two-state solution, but says this should be masked because 78 per cent of Americans do. Hopes for the economic betterment of Palestinians should be emphasised. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/israelgaza-conflict-the-secret-report-that-helps-israelis-to-hide-facts-9630765.html I mean, this is well known already FreePalestine

lego 44,165
2 guys were throwing rocks over soldiers, so the soldiers shot the guys, and shot the kid by mistake. Soldiers never kill un-terrorist people in purpose Israeli officer: I was right to shoot 13-year-old child But the tape recording of the radio conversation between soldiers at the scene reveals that, from the beginning, she was identified as a child and at no point was a bomb spoken about nor was she described as a threat. Iman was also at least 100 yards from any soldier. Instead, the tape shows that the soldiers swiftly identified her as a "girl of about 10" who was "scared to death". ... On the tape, the company commander then "clarifies" why he killed Iman: "This is commander. Anything that's mobile, that moves in the zone, even if it's a three-year-old, needs to be killed.
