The media and HER OWN FANS are throwing **** at her all the time, her confidence is gone, it's not just the ambition, she is very insecure now :( but i don't blame her, i probably would have commit suicide if i was her tbh This forum alone looks like PDLM lately.. aaronyoji 2,054 Posted July 1, 2014 Share Posted July 1, 2014 for me im just so torn in between tbh. on one hand, i feel like you guys only measure hard work and ambition in the form of literal results, numbers, chart figures, sales; "if she isnt on top, then it must be all her fault then right? it must be something she's doing wrong" as opposed to objectively looking at how fickle pop culture is and how unappreciative they are of art and quality. gaga can create more high end art on a cheaper budget than katy perry working with industry big wigs, because it takes substance, not money and revenue. now, on the other hand, i do feel like the quality of her work has plateaued this era. for whatever reason, its just not as elevated as i know it could be, with the likes of inez and vinoodh, she created some of her best work yet, it was refined, simplistic yet exciting and still very creative. but with her personal team...i just dont know. they dont have to be "relevant" to make good work, i dont even like that term. relevance does not mean ****, see my last point in the first paragraph. but for whatever reason, she couldn't fulfill the potential that she herself created before the era started, like with the artrave inventions, the minimalist approach to her creativity, the ideas where all there but for whatever reason they just weren't presented throughout the era. but then again, alot of that has to do with the fact that she was depressed and going through a lot this era. "if im in a bad place, then im changing constantly, trying to find whats next, whats next. its when ive stuck with a look and settled into it that i know im in a good place". Tommymonster44 0 Posted July 1, 2014 Share Posted July 1, 2014 I dont think ambition is the right word. Instead, I think she is just growing up a little and losing some of her youthful mindset. It happens with every artist. There's something special about being young. You have a sort of fiery passion that can never quite be rekindled after you grow up.
