She was so unaware of herself and her talents as a visual artist during this time and that's what made her music videos so memorable. She didn't even need to try, in my opinion. Shame because Applause had some of her most visually striking imagery but needed more time to be perfected. G.U.Y is pretty flawless. ARTPOP is a close second tbh.
