the non pop stars sis, the true rnb stars, let's go: aaliyah, ashanti, mary j blige, etc.

why are they true and not the other one ? ''true rnb star'' means so nothing, it's not because nobody buy their stuff that it's real music lol

the point i'm trying to make is that Beyoncé, Nicki, Rihanna, Usher are more pop now. I was trying to say Madonna's influence is limited to one genre pop and not any other genre outside of it like Diana Ross, Janet, Donna Summer, etc. I can see that this point is kinda moot but back to the central argument, you still didn't prove how Madonna was the first real advancement so I think we're done here. good discussion,

but I will end on this note, Madonna was the first CRASS female megastar, the first female PROVOCATEUR, not the first female artist, that lovely, more meaningful title belongs to these other ladies. I love Madonna but I'm not going to try and make her out to be as revolutionary as you are making her out to be.

on a s-xual, religious and politic side, yes she was the first one to push barrier. after that, those themes were accessible to everybody. in this case, she was the first one to base her work on it at a big level and really challenge public opinion about it.

I think that probably we will remember BTW as her iconic work (at least I will), but the people who think they know her but never listened to the album and only know BTW (song) and TEOG will remember the Madonna comparison

Don't let Madonna know, or she'll start performing a mashup of I Left My Heart in San Francisco and She's Not Me.  :lolgaga:

I never think about it when I'm listeing to the album

and I never really like the song BTW anyway when there's so many other songs that's way better

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

The Fame and the Fame Monster is what overshadowed BTW. I kind of viewed the Madonna controversy as just being a footnote.

I certainly hope not. It's such an encompassing sentiment that helped so many people worldwide, and I'd hate for it to be remembered because of some petty comparison feud.

3 points in and ready for more

No.

I think that the younger generation are simply more familiar with Gaga's music than Madonna's and will remember Born This Way as it's own work. The comparison will still be attached, but most people won't care.

a majority of people dgaf about the comparisons anymore and see Gaga as either a completely new improved version, or see Gaga as someone they just aren't interested in.

this tbh, only madonna's fans are obsessed
