Will Madonna controversy overshadow BTW?

I always thought that BTW the album was one of Gaga's most defining works, truly underrated. 

 

My question is when people look back on LG's career when its all said and done, will BTW be considered an amazing piece of work, or will people only remember the Madonna comparisons?

 

 

 

Bare in mind when Express Yourself was released people were claiming Madonna ripped off The Staple Singers song "Respect Yourself"

 

But they weren't nearly as big as Madonna and most people won't remember them.

People will remember it not only because of the controversy but because of the association of the phrase "Born This Way" with LGBT rights. You don't see a Pride Parade where that phrase isn't found somewhere.
