The only reason I wouldn't go for Music 1/Happyness 10, is because her music means a lot to a lot of people. So good music from her would make hundreds of thousands people extremely happy. So in that case, Gaga would be depressed, but she'd make a lot of people happy.

 

But still, to me happiness and health are what should count the most in every descision.

I voted for Music 7 / Happiness 4. I wanted to do Music 8 / Happiness 3 but it felt mean after what she's gone through.

While I DO care about her happiness, she's here as an artist, and making music is her job. As an entertainer, her job is to entertain, and she's bound to sacrifice a lot of her needs. It's not written anywhere in the contract but I think she knows what it takes to be a pop star. No artist is ever truly happy - it's hard to balance your life when you're an artist. And it's even harder in this digital age.

This reminds me of "Torture the Artist" by Joey Goebel (otherwise known as "Vincent"). It follows the idea of the greatest masterpieces of art being only created by sad, depressed talents.

As much as I want Gaga to be happy and live a wonderful life, I kind of agree that creativity emerges the most from difficult and problematic situations. Whenever problems arise we try to find solutions and create tools to cope with it.

It's exciting to see how differently people answer to this question. Is it okay to let a human being suffer if we get great pieces of art as a result?

It's good we can't decide this. Just as anyone else, Gaga will have her up's and down's in life. She deserves to be happy just as everyone else does :)
