I didn't really like Venus when it released, I was like 'what is this?' But now it's one of my favorites, I'm obsessed.

G.U.Y.!

Oh my god, how excited I was for the chorus after that 12-second snippet... and how I hated the chorus when I heard the whole song. The synths and the vocals were like two drones canceling each other out and preventing the other from taking off. I was... pressed.

And then a month ago I found myself listening to pretty much all the Beatles albums in the living room with my family, just sitting and listening, and talking about it, and the songs started getting weirder and weirder. Growing up I knew "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as much as I knew "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," but I've never marathoned their discography like that. My brother in law started talking about how George Harrison's songs are especially weird, because they're what George Harrison imagines Beatles songs sound like -- except in his mind, he sees no difference between the pop-melodic inevitability of Paul McCartney's writing and his own twisty, concentrated, notes-crashing, harmonic wanderings. To him they're Beatles songs.

After that, I realized G.U.Y is a masterpiece.

Also, Mary Jane Holland was certified brilliance the first time it made love to my ears.

I really don't get the hype around Sexxx Dreams but it's starting to grow on me a little more  :music:

ARTPOP. I didn't like the song at first, but now I like it quite a lot. It's weird, but for me it's as if the album is in two halves - the first 9 songs that I love, and then the rest which I either think are OK or don't like much at all.

ARTPOP and MANiCURE.

ARTPOP is exactly how Gaga described it, like a slow burner, but it's so addicting, and I now listen to it probably more than any song off the album. And MANiCURE I was not too excited for after SwineFest for the rock-esque feel, but now I jam out hardcore to it. So quick and catchy. I also really love the idea behind the title/chorus.
