popper 3
She writes her songs. And it's more than just melody and lyrics. You guys forget about her intense harmonies that are embedded into the instrumentals? Venus anyone?? If anything she deserves more credit for her contributions. She lives and breathes those songs. And don't you dare compare her contributions to Katy's because we all know who has more input. Exactly!
ReRe 1,957
No. Gaga writes all her songs by herself. Being a co-writer doesn't mean you contributed majorly to the song.. It can mean you may as well just have contributed a small phrase or word which goes well with the melody of the song. Gaga writes all her songs, and occasionally takes small notes and ideas from her friends and assistants in the Haus. Every song writer does. She has been writing songs since 13, she doesn't need to lie about it.
Wootan 0
Gaga is highly involved in the making of her songs, it can be easily proved. I mean, she was even in the studio with Marilyn Manson when he was creating his Love Game remix...
Born To Slay 10,996
when you look closer, among her 4 albums, she only wrote 2 songs by herself, speechless and you and i of course she takes a major part of the song writing but she claims so hard that she writes all her songs and stuff but actually she has wrote only 2 songs only by herself.. but for the production, i'm sure she has the last words and she's very involved into it that's for sure This
Houdini 103
I did say previously that she barely writes. Do you think 3 songs is okay within 3 LP albums? do you think 2 songs is ok for 4 albums ? gaga is credited for only 2 songs by herself, Katy 3. Houdini 103
On Prism: Besides Dr. Luke and Max Martin, who are known as producers/songwriters, the other songwriters listed on are: Sia Furler, Bonnie McKee, Greg Kurston, Benny Blanco, Greg Wells, Henry Russell Walter, Klas Ahlund, Adam Baptiste, Sarah Theresa Hudson, Bloodshy & Avant, Vincent Pontare, and Magnus Lidehäll. Last, but not least, is Stargate- a Norwegian record producing and songwriting team who is credited with 4 of Rihanna's BB #1s. They also won the 2009 ASCAP Pop Songwriters of the Year award. The majority of Katy's songs have at least two songwriters, sometimes up to five. These are not synth guys or DJs. These are people who win Songwriter of the Year awards! Venus : 5 writers Jewels'n'Drugs : 7 writers Fashion! : 4 writers Applause : 7 writers For ARTPOP, Gaga has up to 7 writers for 2 songs.
LetsGetHigh 52,683
do you think 2 songs is ok for 4 albums ? gaga is credited for only 2 songs by herself, Katy 3. but Gaga gives credit to people if they add one ****ing word as it has been proved 2 pages back. I am done trying to discuss this with you if you're not going to be open about this.
AbuHassan1992 766
When I saw her in 2010, she said she writes the songs on the piano and then she and her producer orchestrates it all together. This time around, though, it seems like she only toplines tracks her producers send her, which I've always hated from any artist.

When Gaga has 7 writers for ONE song, don't bring me Katy has 5 writers and stuff. Professional writer ? Seriously ? I can claim myself to be a professional writer if I want. A major part of artists who makes melody are writers too, including the 7 DJ who co-wrote songs for Gaga.
Antidote 95
Maybe sometimes, yes. But often I feel like she definitely credits people, look at all the names at the end of the GUY video/ARTPOP film. And she does write a lot herself
Oscar 1,031
In terms of writing melodies and lyrics, that's probably all mostly Gaga and she gives credits to people who change maybe 1 note or lyrics. In terms of how much she actually produces, it's probably the reverse where she would produce or change a small thing in the instrumental and get credit for it. She's also never really created her own instrumentals. She said she would give like a mood or something and give the producers a direction on what she wants and they create it. AbuHassan1992 766
I don't think she did that tbh which part? She definately toplined. And I strongly believe she wrote the songs on the piano first. You know, we have A/b-testing demos of Paparazzi.
