    • It's great. The instrumentals are much better now.

    • It sucks. She's getting lazy and not focusing on the melodies.

    • I don't care. I don't notice much of a difference.

    • I don't mind it, but I want her to go back to crafting instrumentals around melodies, not vice versa.

I hate it. Makes me think she is more a product (KP/Ke$ha/RiRi) than an artist. Nothing wrong with products but don't be a hypocrite. I even doubt how much her input is now.

Yes.

Obviously if she's tailoring melodies to instrumentals then she's putting the instrumentals as the main priority, not the melodies. Hence "not focusing on the melodies."

That still makes no sense. Obviously she's not tailoring around instrumentals since she's literally changed every single melody of the "recycled" songs she used. Vocal melody, that is.

Better Day

OP Applause and G.U.Y. as far as we know are original songs

I have a hard time being upset at Gaga for it, because at the end of the day I love all of those songs and they turned out great.

But, really DJ's?  LADY F*CKING GAGA asks to you to produce a song with her and you give her an instrumental you've already made and has been recycled from something else?

At least all of DJWS's stuff was made exclusively for Gaga.

Right. So she can recycle, just as long as she releases fast, because the time difference obviously somehow changes the end product.

No... I just don't want to wait 2+ years for recycled beats.  If this album was released late 2012/ early 2013, I wouldn't have had a problem with this..  plus she overhyped it to hell..

Now that I thought about it I am a little dissappointed, but tbh I still dont mind. The songs turned out great.

And isnt it more the DJs fault than Gagas?

Bloody hooker

Just think about all the sheet she went trough, plus ARTPOP did not take 2 years, remember her hip and depression, she had to recover.

I know what she went through. I was just saying that she could've, not saying she should've, put her on twist on the instrumentals. She probably really wanted to make ARTPOP more original, but like you said, she went through all that and had to work with what she had. At the end of the day, i'm just happy that she made music. (Music not the bling  :derpga:  )

Plus ARTPOP kinda did take 2 years. She started working on it in late 2012.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

but what if the recycled music isn't even that good...... 👀:awkney:

Then that's all it had to be said. No complain.

Something is to bash someone because of their work and other bash someone because you personally did not like it.

Which is still what I'm saying, if she used "recycled" beats, but the album had been out earlier, it'd somehow be more okay right? Because apparently, the time spent waiting and hype changes the most important thing here, what the music actually sounds like

Well that would be an ironic turn of events as MJH has been one of the most praised ARTPOP tracks :awkney:

Well, I never loved Donatella or MJH that much in the beginning (I only liked the first half of the album which is Aura - ARTPOP).  So I can't say I'm happy overall that the tracks I hate are re-used, AND even though she had those songs pre-made, we still had to wait extra months for it.  It just makes me hate the album more and not doing it justice for me.

Plus, it's a big bummer because in interviews, she's always hyping it long before the release, saying how she's passionate working with them and creating new songs, while only it's just recording vocals.  I just think she needs to be more careful what she says in interviews and how she markets her albums.

First of all, thanks for not answering me b---hy or rude, my faith in ggd has grown a bit.

Well, yeah, it may happened that way or not, I just love the fact that is NEW music, it is like holy water comparing it with how thirsty we were in 2012/13. And the fact that some of them are demos makes it even better because you get to hear new music or version of a song.

AGAIN, I would love to hear the applause demos in the op, when was said it wasn't original?:(

i honestly dont mind that much. Aura and MJH have pretty awesome instrumentals, however its angering that it took 2 years to write a song to go over them. I wish gaga would produce some of her own music ...Venus ,even though some say is over the top, is by far the best instrumental on this album (in my opinion). i think it would be nice if she was vested in the entire song, not just the melodies, but at the end of the day all that matters is that shes making music

So there were quite a number of tracks from ARTPOP that had pre-made instrumentals which Gaga built the songs around. Mary Jane Holland, Donatella, Applause, Aura, G.U.Y. to name a few.

What do you think of this? Gaga rarely used to do it this way. But now it seems she's literally taking entire instrumentals and fitting her own melodies around them. For instance, the Aura instrumental hardly changed from the Infected Mushrooms song.

Is she being lazy? Is she uninspired? Or is this simply a new method of song-writing that she prefers?

Personally, I don't mind it, but I would like her to go back to her old way of doing things. In some songs on ARTPOP, it's very obvious that she shoe-horned in melodies that didn't belong.

Applause wasn't "premade". Gaga and DJWS spent a very long time producing this track together. Gaga mentioned this early in the era.
