SpadesToStart 3,460
Because Fernando made that instrumental for her. Yeah, this is probably petty and childish, but it ticks me off if the producer doesn't make the instrumental especially for Gaga, or at least Gaga is the first person to work with it. Zedd and Madeon just gave her stuff that they had made with no thought of Gaga.
erfaan 2,815
People are just looking for another reason to bash ARTPOP tbh.
HausOfAntonio 8,021
Because Fernando made that instrumental for her. Plus, I just don't know why we waited 2+ years for an album with recycled tracks. If it was released in early 2013/ late 2012 I wouldn't be as mad. ARTPOP is honestly like my favorite thing in the world BUT I do agree with this. She worked on it for SO LONG that I kinda expected her producers to have made instrumentals for her and not just recycled them. Either way, MJH is still my favorite song ever and will continue to be regardless of it being recycled or not.
Mast 980
She's credited as a producer on all songs though? Because ANYONE who gives input in any part of the making of a song is credited as a producer. Gaga works on the vocals and lyrics there's more than just instrumentals to composing a song, you know. ARTPOPchamp 292
UM. WRONG. Gaga has ALWAYS composed her own instrumentals. Most of her previous songs come to life at the piano where she composes the instrumental herself and then with a producer such as Fernando Garibay, she brings the piano version to life again in dance music. Gaga has ALWAYS been involved in the creation of instrumentals for her albums. Marry the Night instrumental was produced by Gaga and Fernando. It was Fernando's idea to add wedding bells is what Gaga said. Also, Government Hooker was the preexisting instrumental that was sped up for Gaga. ARTPOPchamp 292
Also, with ARTPOP, Gaga said while she was working with Zedd, she gave him an idea of an emotion she wanted to convey for specific songs and that he created the instrumentals from that emotion she wanted to convey. I can kind of see that with GUY and DONATELLA but not with AURA. Aura was a preexisting instrumental. With ARTPOP it seems Gaga observed the production process rather than being involved in the actual production and composition. That's why unlike on the other albums, she's listed after producers like DJWS and Madeon and Zedd. Ie) see ARTPOP liner notes. On BORN THIS WAY, Gaga was listed first followed by producers in the liner notes, on ARTPOP she's listed last on each song credit after the producers. Also, Michael is it? "TEA"? Not really. What you stated ain't tea.

CookieHWilson 685
To all of you freaking out about 'recyled' tracks and Gaga not creating MJH+other ARTPOP instrumentals- A) Gaga never did her own instrumentals (she did Venus). She writes the lyrics+melody over an instrumental done by a producer, and she will tweak the instrumental if she wants to. Or she will write a song from scratch, just lyrics+melody on the piano, and compose the notes, then the producer makes the instrumental. And furthermore Where was all of this drama when Gaga said in the 2011 MTV 'Inside The Outside' documentary that Fernando Garibay played her the Marry The Night instrumental and she cried at the church bells, and then she said the words 'I'm gonna Marry The Night' as she left the vocal booth. Why did nobody call her lazy and got mad at her about that???????? and when she said that she wrote Just Dance after RedOne played her the beat. I guess the bias for the ARTPOP era will continue, but in the meanwhile have a sip of what I just served. Thanks nonsequitur

LilVenusian 579
Because Fernando made that beat with GaGa specifically in mind. Zedd made the beat for Donatella for any old hussy which kind of makes it faceless and generic. Its not a true collaboration. I also know that gaga tweaked some of the chords and stuff on Marry The Night (Fernando said this in an interview). The first demo is most likely completely different from the finished product, whereas Donatella+Aura were already pretty much a finished product from the get-go.i.e the donatella instrumental is exactly the same for that "Karma Bitch" song and Infected Mushrooms arrangement of Aura is virtually the same on their demo, "Kink". It removes some of the authenticity of the collaboration, imo, emailing and going through banks of pre-made instrumentals, is not as organic and impressive as being in the studio with the producer and letting ideas grow and flourish, knowing that their both equally invested in the collaboration... geopang 4,831
I think the reason people were mad was at the fact that the instrumentals were given to other artists before Gaga and had previous demos... I dont think they were mad at the fact that Gaga wasnt involved in the production

MonsterOfSpain 8,318
preach Also, none of ARTPOP made me "pee my pants". None of this would be a effing big deal if she didn't HYPE this album to hell and back. Saying it was the "album of the millennium" and an electronic edm masterpiece blah blah blah. Her and her team need to not hype when they can't follow through. That's the biggest issue I see. That's always been her biggest issue The Album of the Millenium comment was a joke ffs But for me it is
