I've got some TEA for you.....

What you seem to forget is that her producers used to make these instrumentals FOR HER and HER ONLY. Recycling old tracks and putting new lyrics on top of it is a whole other story. It was funny with Stache, but now we're talking about an effing studio album...

(sorry to disagree a lot with you today, I really love you actually  )

But do you expect her to know about some random bands demo remix that never was officially released...

I don't remember the part of Garibay playing an entire instrumental to her

Even if he didn't play the whole thing then, he created it.

She's credited as a producer on all songs though?

She makes changes to the instrumental? :spin:

.........So you think............

I think what?

I'm just moreover that we waited 2+ years for instrumentals that were already made.  Not ones producers had to make for her during the albums course, that's a whole different story.  What I'm saying is FG made Marry the Night FOR Gaga FOR Born This Way.  While MJH, Donatella, and Aura were for other albums/artists.  I'm trying to say is the wait was majorly disappointing.  I'm not mad she recycled, but the wait was NOT by any means worth it if you used recycled tracks.

I hate yelling at you Michael, you're a nice user. :laughga:

THANK YOU. It really doesn't matter to me. Madeon did excellent work, and Gaga slayed out a beautiful melody, catchy chorus, and a knockout of a bridge. That's all I care about.

My problem with these recycled tracks is that there is almost nothing left in ARTPOP when it comes to exclusivity (except some stuff like Gaga's collaborations with different artists) + the fact we had to wait 2 years

Even is she used pre-made tracks in the past, we had exclusive remixes, alternative instrumentals/vocals, etc... (e.g. Government Hooker) that she created afterwards with the producer.

Well sure, that's what producers do for a living. But I'm pretty sure Gaga had some influence on it too. Kinda like that studio footage we got from Telephone were everyone makes suggestions and such? I don't mind her using instrumentals but I do think it's lazy.

To all of you freaking out about 'recyled' tracks and Gaga not creating MJH+other ARTPOP instrumentals-

A) Gaga never did her own instrumentals (she did Venus). She writes the lyrics+melody over an instrumental done by a producer, and she will tweak the instrumental if she wants to. Or she will write a song from scratch, just lyrics+melody on the piano, and compose the notes, then the producer makes the instrumental.

And furthermore

Where was all of this drama when Gaga said in the 2011 MTV 'Inside The Outside' documentary that Fernando Garibay played her the Marry The Night instrumental and she cried at the church bells, and then she said the words 'I'm gonna Marry The Night' as she left the vocal booth.

Why did nobody call her lazy and got mad at her about that????????

and when she said that she wrote Just Dance after RedOne played her the beat.

I guess the bias for the ARTPOP era will continue, but in the meanwhile have a sip of what I just served.

Thanks

:tea:

Well said, spill the TEA down the halls of GGD, drowning all the drama queens in delicious truth :applause:

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

So you think. I'm not convinced that most of the tracks were created for her, but people can cling to it if they want to.

and ily2 gurl

Well, this has never happened with Gaga's previous albums... I think that with ARTPOP, she's produced way too many songs. For her next project, I'd love her to go back to what seemed to be her work philosophy during TFM and BTW: quality and not quantity...

Even though I love these songs, even though the instrumentals aren't brand new, it just takes away from the whole thing... I've always seen Gaga as someone who loved to master every aspect of her albums, every note, every sound... It's always a bit of a disappointment to discover she just ripped off something that already existed. For instance: the sounds we hear in BTW were made for BTW only and totally suit this album and its concept. Here, we just realize the sounds aren't exclusive to ARTPOP... I kinda understand why she had a hard time tracklisting the album. Hard to find a logic and create a journey out of a patchwork of new and already existing sounds... if it makes any sense.

I agree with you, tho I don't know where you're coming from ..  I haven't seen anyone complain about instrumentals etc. (I've heard some people talk about AURA, Donatella but it was long time ago)

I'm not mad about recucled instrumentals but more about that this situation seems like:

Zedd/Madeon: Oh, so these are my unused instrumentals that nobody wanted to use, so Gaga, you can take whatever you like.

Gaga: YAAAAAS, ARTPOP artRAVE. Pass me the blunt.

Co-producer, exactly. The key part being 'co'.

She tweaks the instrumentals, but doesn't make them. Therefore she is co-producing it.

I think what?

The wait was long because why would she release ARTPOP while on the Born This Way Ball and then while she is in a wheelchair? :laughga:

The majority of the album was done in 2012.

I think the disappointment is because of expectations that everything has to be 100% organic  I don't think there's a problem with reused material as long as it's done justice and given a whole new life and the end product not sounding like a cheap photocopy  Which Mary Jane Holland definitely does not for me

It's just funny to me that people are so angry over something they've been celebrating and embracing for years without knowing it. Oops.
