SpadesToStart 2,942
it sounds "similar"......? It's literally the same ****ing song. https://m.soundcloud.com/reminiscence-records/do-what-u-want-dance-with-the but yet her team denied using this track at all...sure gaga....sure. Anyone who thinks DWUW wasn't a recycle should listen to this. Honestly speaking tho. This version is like 1000000x better. She needs dance with the dead to produce on her next album and do 80's glam techno rock Ummm, get your speakers checked. Sorry, but from day one I've found it ridiculous that this woman is making EDM. She has too good of a voice and talent to do this s*it, just sing over old tracks etc. I think she seems so off and even she herself is not THAT much into EDM. MY opinion. She really is a jazz, rock'n'roll and just pure pop girl. MY opinion. I agree. tbh, none of the EDM tracks on ARTPOP are in my top 5.
MonsterOfSpain 8,281
I am done. Bye. With Gaga or with GGD I'd rather all of these realisations come to the surface at once so we can all have one big collective meltdown and then move on, instead of one song at a time Imagine the meltdowns in a few weeks/months when there's a thread title saying "Jewels N Drugs recycled track leaked" I don't think anybody would care tbh

Gov Hooka 8,008
I'm ready for all you little managers to get out of this fanbase. It's toxic. It's unwarranted and ungrateful. The fact is that none of you understand music production or EDM music or even MUSIC in general. Gaga hires producers to produce her music. Those producers may have a vocal to go off of and they either find something that fits for them (unreleased material or originally crafted). 99 percent of the time when a song is released the public never finds out if it's original or unreleased but with Gaga everything is under the microscope because of the extreme level of standards that she is held to. I would like to know how many songs off of Prism, Britney Jean, and other albums from last year received the same treatment. We will never know... and why should we ever care? Gtfo if you cant understand this concept. Word can't even explain how much I agree with this post. I'm really grossed out by the people here who probably have never even written melodies and instrumentals GGD blackout begins for me
Interludicrous 15
Venus is basicly Rocket No. 9 by Zombie Zombie so... Rocket No. 9 didn't have any serious melody in it. What Gaga took was the lyrics and the timing of the words, but she created her own melodies, instrumentals, production and composition. Venus- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2U6sCGQnLE sampled the lyrics I know. But first of all she credited for the sample, and second of all the other 98% of the song is her own creation. She concieved something new out of it.

Interludicrous 15
see i feel like to call it a "collaboration" between her and the producer they should be creating something off of scratch. that way they are both experiencing the same thing, with no agenda, no pre conceived vision. codymonster 8,488
This whole situation just makes Gaga look like a big hypocrite, I'm sorry. She's said in numerous interviews that she listened to instrumentals from her producers and then created lyrics and melodies over top of them. How is she a hypocrite, when she's literally told us that she did this for some of the music on ARTPOP :lmao: Edited June 26, 2014 by codymonster

Gov Hooka 8,008
:) People are being a little more out of it than I think is warranted for, I agree. However, in their defense, I think they (and I, not gonna lie) were going by the sentiments that Gaga made her music in a different... manner? "I write my own music, I wrote every sing lyric and melody on this album, I am not manufactured." I'm not saying she's manufactured now, and I'm not saying her method here for ARTPOP is wrong- it's just that I, and probably a lot of others, had a different idea of what kind of artists she is. I'm not detracting her as a musician or as an artist, but that method in particular I'm just nor a personal fan of. It's still good music, and I still respect her as a musician- I just thought of her as different. God knows why she chose this method for ARTPOP more- maybe she just wanted to try a different method? Or maybe there was something more deep rooted going on that we don't know? The point is, that credit was given where it was due, and at the end of the day the music is still good. Before anybody stones me, I'm not saying I'm right. it's pop music though. it's been the same chord progressions over and over again. (Born To Be Alive-Express Yourself-Born This Way) You can sing every pop song over another that shares the same chord progression. and tbh yes i agree with you that it does seem like a let down considering we thought Gaga was this messiah who did everything on her own, but really artists that actually everything on their own don't make it as big because what they do doesn't fit into the preset pop music standards that make that type of music so popular. i know this doesn't pertain to this topic but it's just a thought that came to mind.
