not sure if she should do that tbh..

For next era she should just don't talk and slay everything, this will be the ultimate **** you in my opinion..

If it's possible I would even suggest her doing 0 interviews etc..  but of course the material has to be really good..

0 interviews? Good luck selling a quarter of ARTPOP's sales then Gaga.

The Fame was ironic/sarcastic era.

But she created an album about things she didn't have. About fame, money, success. She was a nobody when creating The Fame. In a way I agree that it was an ironic/sarcastic era but her next album would be from a different perspective - from a successful, rich, well known woman.

Idk, it could be pretty cool.

Do you consider The Fame basic?

At the time it was released it wasn't, because it was innovative and sounded different than what was on the radio, but if The Fame was released today 6 years later than yes id think it was basic.

When I read the thread title, I read "ironic" as "iconic" and thought there was some hardcore shade going on.  :derpga:

But yeah, as someone else said, it reminds me a little of Marina's Electra Heart taken to a higher extreme.

If Lady Gaga had never released The Fame, then electropop probably wouldn't have become as mainstream and popular as it did, so The Fame would probably still sound fresh and interesting now.

I agree. She would have tanked if she'd release The Fame now.

I didn't think about Electra Heart when writing this, but yes I do see the similarity.

well she can still promote with performances you know ...  she didn't do that many interviews with ARTPOP and I highly doubt they helped much.

BEYONCE sold 2M with 0 promo I am sure Gaga can do fine with just performances and great material ...  It'd be interesting in my opinion if she just stops talking for like 1 year or even more..   and just smash etc.

That's exactly what The Fame was about, though.

No it wasn't.

The Fame was about inner-fame and wealth that you imagine in your own mind, and the dark side of celebrity.

Gaga did tonnes of interviews for ARTPOP. :toofunny: Probably somewhere in the 150-200 region.

Gaga and Beyonce are in very different places with the GP. Beyonce has a lot of loyalty from the GP, they look at her as being the ultimate popstar. And her album did so well because the surprise release was seen as something innovative and exciting, I don't think it will work again on the same level.

Gaga needs promotion and interviews to promote her music. If Gaga dropped a new album tomorrow without telling anyone, it wouldn't go well for her. Imo.

Sounds like a better version of Electra Heart.

Yeah, Electra Heart came into my mind. But I don't know it it would be better :laughga:

That's TFM though.

Pardon me, but I'm quite sure The Fame was essentially ironic, but whatever eh.
