I know that voices alter. I'm not sure which vocal is better. But I was listening to Speechless one day and I was so impressed by the vocals, I was asking, why can't I find this awesomeness in Dope? I love her current voice and ARTPOP's vocal performances more than any other time. ARTPOP has golden vocals. Dope is a vocal epic. Gypsy is a masterpiece. DWUW is soulful. All the songs have great vocals I do think ARTPOP will be nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. DWUW will probably be nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and either Gypsy or Dope mightearn a Best Pop Solo Performance mo nom. The reason I've come up with is that, taken as part of ARTPOP's storyline, Gaga is broken, drinking whiskey, alone at a piano, and smashed by regret. I love Dope, so I've taken its 1% off-key delivery and overblown vibrato as a storytelling device -- she's always in character when she sings a song. Having said that, it's hard for me to appreciate Dope unless it's part of a full-album listen. It's gut-wrenching as part of a whole, and sort of ponderous and weird if taken separately. If you watch the David Letterman performance, you can see the difference in how she sings it: the notes are sung in a deep register, but the overall timbre is brighter because she's in a celebrating mood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4O2v8eZ8Wg Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I think she was able to sing and dance better at the same time during her previous eras. Excuse me but her vocals have improved over time. I never liked when she use to sing poker face in that deep voice.
