Is Gaga disappointed to the reception ARTPOP got?

She was set up to loose from the start, comparing it to BTW'S first week sales as well as so far the biggest break she has had between albums (that completely wasn't needed personally IMO) but she did say well ahead of the release it was just a fun album that kind of merged all genres from previous records...which it is almost kind of literal it really is a mixture of so many genres and sounds that it doesn't really have a coherence. When she stated "people are going to ask oh this is gaga" at first I though oh great she's going to try and fuse trap with EDM which is pretty much what she did (thank you DJWS your productions are good but next album let's try something new) but also the fact that she tried to really go EDM as in looking up Zedd's instrumental database  to pick tracks to then try and add vocals and arrange a melody for really is contradictory to her "work ethic" about being involved  with every aspect of the creation of her tracks having heard the Donatella and Aura instrumentals in the demo and the Karma B*tch track there really wasn't much that was changed on them to have them fit on ARTPOP. Her peak was TFM, ARTPOP was expected to be as successful as it and wasn't it's understandable. but if she just made a fun album for the heck of trying something new don't expect it to be you're big "comeback" album in terms of relationship with the GP there quite over her it's a fact, i'm not saying they don't like her the shock aspect as almost died out going from shock value which got her the attention to going for a more bland simplistic setting in her performances the reception from the public is to be expected.

I think she's disappointed with the era as a whole but she stands by her original idea. We've just gotta wait and see what her next moves sonically are, she could "save the album" by adding tracks via the app and rekindle some people's interest in it but I don't think that'll happen.

Let's just wait and see, we know if she does a U-Turn she wasn't happy with it.

I hope so.

She needs to work harder next time, like she used to.

Of course she is, she spent years making a flop concept that neither she followed

That is so rude...

Err how about the swine fest performance? That was putting performance art into her pop song.

And the Paris outfit wasn't Applause era. It was February this year. :flop:

And also G.U.Y. Was also artistic in the sense that is was a cleansing and baptism. The artistic message involved in the song. And not to mention she has the building of the lego statue. That costs A LOT of money because the man who made it is a lego artist. He usually doesn't do that any pop star you.

And Venus references was Venus era too.

And there was also the outfit which was very colourful, yellow boots and made it look like Gaga had to faces. Also a reference to a painting.

Gaga has brought art alive often. God, you people. You just refuse to accept the ARTPOP message because you won't look into it.

The issue has been the timing and promotion though, apart from the start of the era (Aura leak - Swine fest) it's been pretty all over the place!

I've loved some of the looks this era but I can't help feel that they've been wasted on the wrong crowd, for example, the bubble dress 2.0 was worn whilst she left the iTunes festival? If that was incorporated into an appearance somewhere or a performance it would have got the credit it deserves!

People blaming it on on bad management. The public in general didn't receive the album too good I am the biggest Gaga fan out there but I can 100% say there where a lot of much better albums out in the same year.

She worked hard on the music though. And when she was given an oppurtunity to do anything (which she barely was) she had huge things done. Like G.U.Y. Video. And Applause VMA performance (even though she had an even BIGGER plan).

But I think you're sorta right. It's just she needs to be allowed to do as she pleases. Her management should work hard to make stuff happen.

But she should pride herself for the music.

She's disappointed that NOBODY (minus a few fans) saw & understood what the hell she was trying to do. She must be so embarrassed and resentful. I hope she takes that rage & comes back for blood in her next era.

Agreed. This era had the potential to be motherf--king HUGE but timing and promotion through her vision down the toilet.

I'm just glad Gaga made the best of what she was given (which was much (thanks Interscope :crossed:))

You know what, I am gonna be honest with you, I was gonna write an essay of everything she did this era that basically blew the original concept to bits but I am lazy rn, go read every thread about this era on Gaga thoughts, xoxo

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Just because many ignorant people say the same thing doesn't make the comments any less ignorant. :hehe:

And if you are talking about 2012 ARTPOP then let it go. That was a different album ffs. :sharon:

Of course she is, not that it makes her less happy with the music she created.

I mean even the app-concept she was so excited about went down the drain.

Yeah it was, it is the main reason why the concept did not work, she scrapped every song she wrote with ARTPOP (maybe only SD and Aura are there) and basically just killed all the album cohesion with the concept :rip: :rip: :rip:

Publicly no, privately yes

No , she loves her work. She might think her songs sound unfinished though :laughga:

Then she doesn't like her work.

A good artist is NEVER satisfied with their job. They always want to keep perfecting it.
