Is Gaga disappointed to the reception ARTPOP got?

Yeah it was, it is the main reason why the concept did not work, she scrapped every song she wrote with ARTPOP (maybe only SD and Aura are there) and basically just killed all the album cohesion with the concept :rip:

The truth of the matter is ARTPOP just wasn't as great as it was hyped to be.  A lot of fans I know (myself included) were very unhappy with the result of the album.  Upon listening to the album, there wasn't a single song that we were madly in love with. My first time listening to The Fame, The Fame Monster, and Born This Way, I couldn't wait to listen to the songs again. Those albums gave me goosebumps. I was able to listen to those albums for at least year before getting bored of them.  ARTPOP on the other hand, was unable to do that for me and for my friends. I have not listened to the album in about 3 months or so, and I don't even miss it. I didn't get the goosebumps I was expecting to get, and I didn't feel that excitement inside my body that I did with the previous albums.  Many of my friends who are not Gaga fans also claimed that ARTPOP was by far their least favorite of all Gaga albums. I think Gaga really overhyped the greatness of this album and didn't deliver. Hopefully things will get better next time around.

well when she tweeted CRJ she could have been talking about some of the songs she had done for the original version of ARTPOP.

ARTPOP was one of the best albums released last year. Anyone should be *very* proud of that.

99.9999% of artists would DIE for ARTPOP numbers. But for some reason people see it as a failure for Gaga because they numbers weren't as astonishing as previous releases.

I love ARTPOP, and I can't think of any other album released in 2013 that I listen to more. I can't ask for more than that!!!

What you mean to say is that you want her to return to a particular sound that makes sense to you and satisfies you.

But don't try to undermine something that you have no way of verifying. Shows very little respect for her and if you don't have any respect for her leave this forum.

She's disappointed that NOBODY (minus a few fans) saw & understood what the hell she was trying to do. She must be so embarrassed and resentful. I hope she takes that rage & comes back for blood in her next era.

She stated few times that even she doesn't know what ARTPOP exactly means. I think she had good idea on paper but it wasn't executed well enough. Also, there was a lot of hype about the app that turned out to be a mess. A lot of projects were announced and now they are just forgotten. ARTPOP is just a concept that wasn't finished. She should move on and make new music, new concept and just do a "reboot" of her whole legacy as Lady Gaga and be completely prepared the next time she releases an album.

I can't imagine her not being at least a little disappointed with it's reception. We all know how much Gaga puts into her work, so it must be disappointing to have it trashed and not be as successful as her other albums. 

 

I doubt she like, cries herself to sleep over it or anything. She's a strong woman, and she knows that not every album will be praised to the heavens and sell a million copies first week. Still, it must sting a bit..

I mean wouldn't anyone that put effort into an album that was released to the world and got such mixed reception? People were very stand offish with her and her music this era. Granted, I don't think ARTPOP is her best album but its not bad. I think theres just a lot of variety right now and what she brought to the table  wasn't very intriguing. So im sure she is disappointed with its reception and maybe she could be privately disappointed with herself for not having blown people away, but at the same time im sure shes simply proud of having created and having the balls to create with the whole worlds observation. In recent years shes become somewhat of a media punching bag when before she was praised, so shes had some obstacles to overcome this era probably being the biggest. Hopefully working on the jazz record and all of these people selling her short has lit a match under her ass to make something from her heart and not her head next time.
