Dangerous Man 9,245
How about them? There are peaks and valleys in a long term music career. Some albums sale better than others. Long term artists (and those of us who have followed them for many years) know this basic fact. That's not delusional...that's realistic. ARTPOP was in the top 10 albums of 2013 and has sold over 2.5 million worldwide. The tour will place Gaga in the top 10 tours for 2014. Maybe that isn't enough for you, due to your unrealistic expectations, but it makes Gaga one of Interscope's top selling artist. First of all, the argument was about Gaga whether he left or not. It's obvious that she left. She is not number 1 anymore even in social media and her streaming power decreased big time. Now, we want to bring her back with those stuffs. Being in the top 10 = /= leaving. It's not "obvious" to the 800,000 individuals who spent money on concert tickets or the 2.5 MILLION that bought her album. It's not "obvious" to the 800,000 individuals who spent money on concert tickets or the 2.5 MILLION that bought her album. It's called leaving because she is not doing great anymore as before. Those album sales are not even great. Rihanna can sold 3M albums even at her 7th album. Her touring power is still there, maybe in that sense she didn't leave but as a whole, she is not performing well esp. in selling her own records. Why do ppl don't watch her videos anymore nor the radios are playing her current single? It did not even reach 10M ai. Because clearly alot of people lost interest with her. She performed DWUW in many Big Shows but it only sold 1M in the US. That's why this album c2c is expected to gain again the GPs interest for Gaga. My Little Phoney 658
How big do some people think a jazz album will be? Chances are, it's not going to be "huge" or make Gaga super popular again, but it will open her up to a new audience and gain her more respect within the musical community. Mills 446
New music always fires the enthusiasm of people. If that's what this PR person at hand felt upon hearing the samples from C2C, then good for him. His words aren't and shouldn't be regarded as though it's a surefire prophecy that'll indeed happen. I appreciate the zest (as widely known among PR men), but a statement like that unfortunately comes off as overly exaggerated. "Bring back"? What does that even allude to? If he meant massive commercial success worthy to be called as a comeback, then a jazz album would be the last thing I'd have in mind. C2C isn't a pop album promised with 100% new and original material. It's promised as a jazz record. And jazz records barely become "monster" hits (i.e. 4 million and upwards). The higher the expectations people have with regards to its potential sales, the bigger disappointment it'd only bring upon. I'm excited for C2C because of its potential critical acclaim, not because it could become the next big thing like this statement seems to suggest. Kayla 7,595
by riding on the coattails of her past successes while achieving nothing after her comeback hype has died with applause I'm here with facts and numbers to help out the people who claim Gaga is "flopping." The IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) is the organization that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. In their Digitial Music Report released 2014, they show some pretty successful numbers for Gaga. http://www.ifpi.org/downloads/Digital-Music-Report-2014.pdf Figure 6: Top ten best selling albums of 2013 Rank Album & Artist Total sales (m) 1 Midnight Memories One Direction 4.0 2 The Marshall Mathers Lp2 Eminem 3.8 3 The 20/20 Experience Justin Timberlake 3.6 4 Unorthodox Jukebox Bruno Mars 3.2 5 Random Access Memories Daft Punk 3.2 6 Prism Katy Perry 2.8 7 To Be Loved Michael Bublé 2.4 8 Night Visions Imagine Dragons 2.4 9 ARTPOP Lady Gaga 2.3 10 Beyoncé Beyoncé 2.3 Please tell me how being in the TOP TEN best selling albums worldwide, literally matching the same number sold as Beyonce (who no one ever talks about "flopping"), is considered her not doing well? She's not as popular, no. But to say Gaga atm and ARTPOP are a "flop" is incorrect, and there are numbers to prove it. It's not the Gaga success we were used to in the beginning, but it's still a great success, nonetheless.

Others were the shipments. Sleigh with your opinion though

Sleigh with your opinion though If Gagas numbers are "shipments" then all he other artists numbers there are also shipments and so it doesn't change anything, Gaga is still in the top ten worldwide. Seriously when you get into arguing whether sales are shipments or "real" sales it just proves your priorities are messed up and you have bought into Stan war nonsense. Jjang 2,262
Again, what's worrying is Gaga's DRASTIC decrease in numbers, not her actual current sales. But anyway, I hope this Jazz album is good.
