"Cheek to Cheek could bring Gaga back..."

Let's hope so... I want Gaga on top again

I'll be forever her fan, even if she doesn't chart anymore at all...

I, as a fan, just want her to do good... simple as that :)

Gaga has another perception of "doing good" and being "successful" in general though. She rather make an album like ARTPOP and not chart (hypothetically; it was still a #1 album) than produce an album like Prism and be at the top of the charts.

Gaga not being commercial is the best thing to ever happen to her career from a music quality standpoint. Tbh

I'd take ARTPOP over Prism every day tbh, even if it would have not charted at all (hypothetically)

But ARTPOP IS commercial. Maybe the most commercial, along with The Fame. Her top albums, in my opinion, are TFM and BTW (the latter being way less commercial and more experimental than ARTPOP for example)

Being on topic, I think C2C is a first step to the recovery of her brand. (At least with the critics and media)

Yeah, tell that the Aura, Swine, Jewels n' Drugs, MANiCURE, Dope, G.U.Y. (a single about f**king power bottoming!!!), and Venus (to an extent it's pretty experimental/promo single/the first song she's ever produced by herself!).

Especially considering its (at times) abstract message and unchartered theme, how... commercial   :reductive:    granted BTW is muuuuch more experimental, but it's also one of the most out-there albums of the decade and it could be since it was released at (arguably) the height of her career. And idk what you're talking about calling TFM was produced by the best dream team ever, it's hard to compare it to her other works. It was a golden age tbh.

"Bring Gaga back", in what sense? She has always been here. She approved of the music she made and she is proud of it, she wasn't forced in any way to make ARTPOP. So, what would be brought back? Her success is the only thing I can think of, but why would that matter? It's not that important. She doesn't have to sell out music venues, just to be enjoyable. She doesn't have to be the most famous artist in the world. There are many artists who are so much more successfull than Gaga and why should she have to compete with them? Like Gaga said, "music not the bling", even though she has contradicted herself many times. I don't like the ARTPOP era for many reasons, but Gaga hasn't changed, it's just her mask that fell off. I hope Gaga will make a great album. If she doesn't I am going to stop being a fan of her. Born This Way was a nice pop record, so were her earlier album when released at the time. ARTPOP however, sounds very generic and I'm sad she didn't make any experimental electronic music, instead she hopped on the bandwagon that began years ago and only snobbish clubs play. I don't wanna sound pretentious, but I just don't enjoy it and the music makes me cringe. I hope she goes to a more relaxing electronic sound, her voice would sound great on it.

Anyone who feels the same?
