Who cares? Artists will still continue to make EDM tracks regardless of how popular the genre is.

I kind of like to think of EDM as this generations rock n' roll, at least that's what it feels like in Southern California

I've thought this for a while now. I even think there's a Gaga quote where she says that "underground dance music (EDM) is this generation's anthem" or something like that.

EDM isn't going anywhere.  The Electric Daisy Carnival keeps getting bigger and bigger every year. This year 400,000 attended over three days..

By the numbers when the 2014 Electric Daisy Carnival wrapped its three nights at dawn today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, crowds had totaled 400,000 fans from 40 countries and all 50 states for performances by more than 200 of today’s most popular and underground DJs.

The Circuit Grounds stage, home to DJs Afrojack, Avicii and Calvin Harris, among others, this year, expanded to nearly twice its size in length, breaking the record as the largest clear-span structure in the world. Measuring 400 feet long, the stage also featured more than 750 lighting fixtures and 10,500 square feet of video panels that descended from the stage’s dome ceiling.

Some 70 legal weddings took place over the course of the three-day festival, more than five times the amount from last year. If the post-EDC blues are already setting in, you can relive the magic and catch a screening of the 3D documentary “Under the Electric Sky†as it hits select theaters here and throughout the southwest this Friday.

someone had to say it. quite frankly the black eyed peas where making more edm based songs than gaga when she came out, lets b real.

also, i will always love underground electronic music, but all that more dancey "EDM" labeled stuff that u hear more in the mainstream, it just cant evolve any further. i cant really see whats left to make with edm, that box is full now.

edm is electronic dance music meaning electronic music you can dance to. its a very vague term. its like saying something is "indie" or "alternative", its people lazily labeling a variety of styles into one category.

as for gagas music in general, shes always been very synthpop meets commercial pop. synthpop never goes out of style, it just depends on what you do with it.

They are right in some aspects, but I know I'm right in some aspects, too.  It's not like THEY know everything. At the same time it's not like I know everything, either.
