So why has she not been churning out the hits and chart positions and youtube views? Most people are going to say because the general public is over her and she's just the ultimate flop and **** like that. But that's not true. The main reason for this is........................................................................... Little Monsters have gotten lazy. Gaga never had the general public. She's always been the outcast doing the things that no one else would dare to do because it was purely suicidal if they tried. For instance. Dance music was not the thing to do in 2008 it was urban pop. Gaga wanted to make a dance record and like she always has been, she was met with criticism from her management and label. The Fame was almost not even allowed to be released because of it's vast differences from what was currently being played and bought. Interscope took a chance because Akon would not shut up about her and Jimmy Iovine being the genius for talent that he is decided to roll the dice after all. But do you blame him for being skeptical? Gaga had zero ZERO notoriety and they were going to put out an experimental dance album. Odds are the album should have flopped but guess what it didn't. It got off to a slow start with a little promo but then something happened. She started a legion. She struck a chord. That chord grew to a melody. That melody became a song. And that song became an album. And that album became a legacy. Almost overnight. Suddenly this woman who carries a glowing Disco Stick and dressed like a hooker is registering for people- the outcasts. The people who were not content with a superficial pop star anymore. The tide was rising and rising fast. Fans (not yet labeled as Little Monsters officially) called radio stations relentlessly and watched her videos over and over and over again because they believed in what they saw and what they were hearing. On a fateful night in 2009 the pop star Lady Gaga became a pop queen with one of the most memorable and shocking performances in VMA history. You all know which one...... This set the stage for a follow up to the album that should have never been. The Fame Monster. To be honest this is when it happened. This is when Gaga became unstoppable. She had dubbed her fans as Little Monsters and herself was Mother Monster... as corny as some people find it now it was truly remarkable at the time because hell, what pop star had ever given her fans a name? Bad Romance is not a cookie cutter pop song. It was absolutely weighted and doomed- even Jimmy Iovine said this and blasted Gaga and her producer (redone) for wanting it to be the lead single from The Fame Monster. The demo leaked- critics croaked but little monsters said "**** you, watch this". They posted the video on their twitter, fb pages, myspace accounts (damn that was a long time ago eeek!) and once again hounded their stations to play that song. Bad Romance is the only song to ever be certified as diamond by the RIAA (female). Did that happen because people sat around and talked about how much of a flop it was going to be because it was so experimental and because the general public wouldn't like it? NO. It was pure ambition by the fans. Why do you think she loves us so much? This continued and success was just coming because the train was moving full speed ahead. Gaga was a juggernaut. Her peers started altering their wardrobes, videos, and production to try and keep up but she had them covered. Every time I log into this forum I see everyone clamoring over what she should be doing next or what she's doing wrong. What about what she's doing right? We are the most passionate fanbase in the world.. don't believe me? Look at what we have done so far. We have taken that passion and turned it away from ambition and into cynicism. Gaga can still be great we just have to get back to what brought us here. If all the energy that little monsters put into the backlashes were being put into youtube, requests, sharing, and spreading ARTPOP would still be doing what TF and TFM and yes even BTW did. Paws up. Sloppy management, lack of promotion, and the other pop girls exploiting what she does to high hell so people got tired of her when she came back with EDM/crazy costumes. Monsters have let stan delusion override enjoyment of the music. I love ARTPOP. The only "wrong" things to come from it exist solely in the pop forums and gossip television. The fans requested it and the GP liked it enough that it charted at #4. The difference is now that the fans don't believe in the music anymore. They're already saying that she should stop ARTPOP and begin her new album without giving some of the gems on this album a chance. Of course on the flip side, the fans certainly were not lazy during the BTW era but the GP just didn't receive it as well as her previous work. They liked TEOG but that's about it.
