Accidentally crossed the border?

If you miss the last exit, you can't turn around so you have to go into Mexico. I have been to Mexico through San Diego once. At the Mexican border, the Mexican Federales just wave you through without checking any ID, like if saying come on over and spend your money here. While at the U.S. crossing, the American border agent need to check everyone ID like if saying we want to make sure no illegals come in.

But it's not really an accident. You know that you are close to the border and you are carrying guns. It's a crime, the intention is not important.

A naval base is near the border too and a lot of people in San Diego own guns. The Marine could just lied and said he just have belongings, not mentioning about any gun. His honesty cause him his freedom, and the Federales should worry about d--g cartels beheading people instead.

Accidentally or not he committed a crime. Admitting a crime doesn't save you from facing the law. The Federals should do their job and they did their job.

I can't believe the idiot replies in this thread. He just happened to have three guns on him. Obviously that isn't gun trafficking. Maybe there are just a bunch of city people commenting in this thread, but literally everyone owns a gun in these more rural areas.

He missed a turn driving and now he has to spend six years in prisons with rapists, murderers, and d--g traffickers? Are you guys seriously so apathetic.

the intention is not important.

the intention is not important

LOL

The intention is always important. You don't rigidly apply the same punishments every time someone happens to break a law. Laws are there to prevent harm to others. The law itself is not important.

You break the law in Dubai and Iran and Uganda and Saudi Arabia if you commit homos-xual activities. I guess those gay people all deserve to be locked away! They broke the law!

That's sad. I hope they sort this out, he doesn't deserve to be in prison if it was an accident. Also :toofunny: @ the fact he carries weapons that can wipe of the population of a small town, when he goes to dinner with friends. :dies: But I guess that's how things are in the US...

Update:

SAN DIEGO - A group of about 100 riders mounted their motorcycles Saturday and rode together in a show of support for Andrew Tahmooressi, the Marine reservist being held in a Mexican jail.

Bikers from as far as Texas met at the San Diego Harley-Davidson's main location at 4645 Morena Blvd. on Saturday. Their push was urging the release of Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi.

Organizers say Tahmooressi fought for our country's freedom, so they wanted to do the same for him. "We need people to be aware of what's going on," said supporter Paul Hawker. "We have a no soldier left behind. He's being left behind in Mexico." Tahmooressi is in a Mexican jail accused of bringing legally registered guns across the border three months ago.

He had just moved to San Diego for post-traumatic stress disorder treatment. He was living out of his truck and he says he took a wrong turn at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Some 100 bikers participated in the rally. They headed south on Interstate 5 and turned onto state Route 905, dodging the border.

The bikers say their message is not for the Mexican government. "We just want to get a message loud enough to the White House for President Obama, to pick up the telephone to call the president of Mexico and get Tahmooressi free," said "New York Myke," who organized the rally.

San Diego police say they had five extra officers keeping a close eye on the border in case the group decided to protest at the San Ysidro border crossing.

The event ended at Kearny Mesa Harley-Davidson where bikers ate lunch and listened to music. Mother Jill Tahmooressi is overjoyed supporters have not lost hope. "The family is honored and Andrew is so appreciative that so many people are interested in seeing him free," she told 10News.

Tahmooressi is due in Mexican court July 9 for an evidentiary hearing. Jill Tahmooressi says it will be his first time facing a judge and she is planning on attending.

Why? They just provocate it. You should know the laws in countries where you go.

The laws in Uganda etc. are silly though.

Don't even compare both things because one of them is a s-xual preference and the other is a stupid action who later caused an accident.

The intention is important if the crime was inevitable or if it really wasnt a conscious decision. In this case he was able to prevent it and he was conscious about the guns and the border, he was just careless about it until something bad happened. Do I feel bad for them? Yes. Is he 100% innocent? No.
