Ronk 14,762
It's not like Gaga wasn't always controversial though. I don't think it was as serious as we think. People don't even remember these things after some months. You make a good point. I don't think Judas was the major factor in Gaga's loss of popularity, but if may have contributed some. There are so many theories, each supported by strong arguments, it's really uncertain what actually caused any decline. Years from now when Gaga writes her autobiography we may learn what Gaga thinks on the matter. I strongly believe that Gaga will regain her popularity ... she's too talented not to. I also believe that Gaga isn't concerned about it as long as she can keep producing music she believes is the most artistic and highest quality for the enjoyment of those who are like-minded. It's one of the many things I love about her ... she doesn't pander and is faithful to her creative vision. I live outside the space time continuum. Sugarfall 3,723
A lot of my friends say this as well. Even Trisha (blndsundoll4mj) on YouTube says she dislikes her now because of the release of this song. LOL she is the worst YouTuber ever. Judas separated the wheat from the chaff... It was the sieve that strained out the fans who didn't really love her, and she kept the fans that truly did love and appreciate her. This pretty much
Edge 0
I don't think that's what damaged her career. The quality of her work just isn't as good was it was. She's still a good artist, but she was an absolutely incredible artist in 2010.

ThatSLAYGUY 68
But even a casual listener could obviously pick up the meaning! It annoys when people babble on about how she is actually legitimately in love with Judas Iscariot
Hellspont 1,468
Judas had no long lasting affect on her career, TEOG is her most widely acclaimed song. Edit: Oh my, old thread :emma:
Laceface 2,964
Funny. I know a friend who hated BTW and said that Judas was the only good song from it (she's part of the GP btw not a fan) I also have a few friends who loved Judas

holy scheisse 22,286
I dunno…I like ARTPOP waaaay more than her previous albums Her one year off didn't do her any favours either (yes she was recovering, but there was basically nothing coming from her for a whole year). Her absence nearly made me go over to the Lorde side, it was a very dark time in my life :emo: but... lorde made her debut in 2013?
HANZ 4,380
I love JUDAS and it's by far one of her best videos but there is definitely a before and an after JUDAS before JUDAS she was a goddess of people but after JUDAS gaga has been losing power every year and sadly her image and career has been damaged since then :( My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
holy scheisse 22,286
Judas is the sh*t. She's stupid. Oh and Im pretty sure Judas didn't cause her popularity to fall...it had already started declining before that. True. Ppl were starting to yawn after Alejandro video came out bc it was so "ridiculous" (although it was my fav)
