HORRORHOLIC 107
This. I can't trust her hype anymore. She needs to start delivering and stop talking about delivering. Not just Gaga, but musicians in general need to stop giving away so many details and let the music do the talking

GagaMyBlood95 9,915
The one biggest mistake is not releasing "Gypsy" because it could have been an iconic hit single for her, but oh well... RIP True + not releasing DWUW video..
Dominic 11,922
Great music, awful execution. - The era was very underwhelming, it lacked a lot of promo and Gaga appeared to have a defeatist attitude throughout. It is a shame because the music is incredible but she just did not deliver an all-around package. Next album; less hype, less EDM and more promo. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Pop 4,541
I very much doubt it was just to get the fans to shut up. The concept for the video was well thought out and executed well. I mean she shot it at Hearst Castle and got a custom art piece commissioned from Nathan Sawaya. It was hardly just thrown together She even paid $250,000 for the restoration of two statues at the castle. One, a 13th-century sandstone Spanish sculpture of the Madonna and Child and another a statue of Venus being raised from the Neptune Pool by two mermen. She also spent $25,000 on refilling the pools, a $22,500 special event fee and made a special service video. She dedicated a lot of time and money shooting this video and you are acting like it's just some throw together video Are you even a fan of her work? I am, but G.U.Y. seemed to rely too much on the castle and not enough on good direction, storyline or flow. I'm a huge fan of: Alejandro, Bad Romance, Born This Way and Marry The Night videos. Bebe 17,094
I am, but G.U.Y. seemed to rely too much on the castle and not enough on good direction, storyline or flow. I'm a huge fan of: Alejandro, Bad Romance, Born This Way and Marry The Night videos. Right, because the storylines for Alejandro and Bad Romance were far more clear... I think that the storyline for G.U.Y was great, maybe you didn't understand the symbolism? It doesn't focus much on religious symbolism like she has for other eras (Alejandro, Bad Romance, Born This Way and Marry The Night all had references to Christianity... Most people are familiar with such symbolism but it has been done to death). I think it was edited very well, the symbolism was impressive, the choreography was good and the overall direction was great imo. It was well thought out and there was clearly a lot of attention to detail. Taste is subjective, I'm not really trying to force you to like it but don't just trash the video and act like it was some last-minute thrown together project. Frankly, GUY was way too blunt considering she spent half a year working on it. A fallen phoenix rises from the ashes, gets baptized and dances in pretty locations. The pop culture references (Ghandi/John Lennon/Jesus/etc) were nonsensical and horribly crammed in between long scenes of gaga dancing looking "pretty". She can and will do better once she realizes she can't do everything alone and lets her ego take her back to collaborating with other people like she did at her peak. Daenerys 6,120
Idk why it's such a big deal though. The BTW album era lasted, what, 7 months before she just went on tour? This album era lasted 8 if you want to include these past few (flop) months. I'm just proud we got this far and that we got what we did from it.
