She's already the Queen of Pop. Now she's coming for the Queen of Jazz throne. :creepflop:

Yes.  But I think she will continue to be multi genre.  She has been singing jazz from time to time throughout her career, in jazz clubs and special events, but no singles released.

I live outside the space time continuum.

I don't like jazz unless it's just incorporated a little bit into synth music or dance music or alternative rock. Straight jazz I don't get.  I liked it fused with other genres of music.

No. As excited as I am about C2C, PopGa is the one I fell in love with, not JazzGa. I'm all for Gaga expanding her horizons and experimenting with various genres, but pop is what she does best.

That's exactly how I'd feel too

No but do love Gaga when she showcases her voice which she does more in Jazz and acoustic.

Not really. With pop music she can change her style for each album. Jazz music doesn't give you that versatility.

There's incredible diversity in jazz; it's not all swing and dance music.

I'd like her to incorporate more jazz elements in her music. Imagine Gaga successfully mixing jazz harmonies with killer dance beats - now that's an innovation! I know jazz fusion is a thing, but I've never heard it done well in the pop-dance style. Most people in jazz, in my experience, tend to look down on pop music. Gaga's clearly not like that. Bringing jazz to the masses. True ART + POP.

...Sorry, I got carried away. Honestly, as long as she keeps writing her own music, I'm fine with it. I'd like to see her write some jazz stuff, actually. And since pop is very flexible, she can always incorporate it into her work. There's so much she could do.

All music genres have their own diversity but Pop music is the most diverse music genre. I said that jazz music doesn't give you the same versatility as pop music, I never mentioned diversity.

ARTPOP could mean anything because pop music is art by itself.

I'm not sure what you mean by either of these statements. What makes pop music more diverse or more versatile than jazz? Jazz fusion, where you have jazz influenced by classical music, electronic music, experimental music, and yes, pop music, is huge...

I think we have different definitions of pop music. I consider pop music to be a certain type of music with certain musical characteristics. It doesn't have to be popular. In addition, pop music has changed so much that some types of pop music might not even be recognizable as pop nowadays. That's why I distinguish between pop music as a genre, popular music as music made for commercial consumption, and contemporary music which is "recently made." If you see pop music as encompassing all popular music ever, then yeah, that's a huge backlog to draw from, but you'd technically be counting stuff like parlor music, show tunes, and even early jazz as popular music. I prefer to be a bit more specific, but I should realize that people don't use the same definitions as me. "Pop music" has so many different definitions that it's hard to tell what anyone means by it when they say it!
