I might be the only person in this world who finds PARTYNAUSEOUS' production really generic and flat

Is it his, or is he just mixing it for that particular set? OR did he, Gaga, and T-Minus work on it all together?

OT, but I think him and Gaga really brought out the best in each other.

Dangerous Man

Partynauseou would be the worst track of AP. :legend:

I disagree.

Haha, it would be AMAZING, but you can bet it would be ripped apart for lyrics like "Even though we're exhausted, we're problem solving" and "Talkin' real diplomatic, I brought my plastic" for being so awkward and obvious. (Even though Gaga is at her best when she is awkward and obvious -- i.e. "I can make you some food...")

A good thought experiment is to imagine PARTYNAUSEOUS and Jewels N' Drugs trading places. There would be fan rage over Gaga cutting out a shape-shifting song that steps way outside the pop music box, or being afraid to commit to her rap fans, pulling her punches, etc.

Although you might be right, PARTYNAUSEOUS would probably be the worst song on ARTPOP because it's in an activist mode. The album is all about personal reflection. Maybe Act II will be more outward-looking?

Your point makes sense. PN has truly foul lyrics, which was the main problem with AP

I kind of agree with you, yeah.

I think I really like partynauseous mainly because I was incredibly excited for songs on the album dealing with the whole Jakarta situation. In the end, all we got was a mention in Gypsy (granted, it's an incredible line). The lyrics in the song itself are incredibly awkward, but in a way it works for what it is. I personally think it would be better not only if we heard the full song, but also if we had other songs dealing with the same theme to counteract with it.

The idea of switching partynauseous with J&D is actually an interesting idea, and I think I'd prefer it. I agree that J&D's instrumental, in the context of it being a pop song, is pretty out-of-the-box; but, I think I prefer partynauseous lyrically.

I think y'all are confusing the words "worst" and "most controversial." PARTYNAUSEOUS wouldn't have been the worst, it would just have garnered a lot of attention for being very controversial. It's got a killer beat and a great chorus, and after it had been polished and made into a studio version, I'm sure the song would have been great.

How do people hate Partynauseous??? That song is my absolute favorite of ARTPOP so far. It is how the entire album should have sounded.

The possibility that we'll never get Partynauseous is killing me

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.
