Can't hurt and ma even provide fans of a certain genre with a bop think of how many fans it turned off though, especially initially when you NEED your die-hard fans to be saying only positive things about the album to their friends/followers. And it was cited specifically by many big people on social media as one of the main reasons that thought it was a messy album, like big YouTubers with giant followings (Tyler Oakley in specifically) Edit: Don't get me wrong, I love variety and I LOVE when she takes risks and is adventurous with her music, but it definitely can hurt her just as much as help. What about Sweet Nothing which was Grammy nominated and his whole album 18 Months was too for EDM album. If it wasn't for Daft Punk... He would've won. I wasn't happy that she did a collab with TI and worked with Azealia Banks. Gaga has friends in high places like Elton John, Yoko Ono, Tony Bennett, Beyonce, etc. I don't like seeing her work with people with no star quality and with little to no musical skill. Calvin Harris, amongst several other producers, are like one of those go-to producer/*****s for a quick hit. Give me experimental Fernando/DJWS anytime over Generic Harris.
