Sorry, no shade to you but I just find it funny how just because someone's friend likes a Gaga song and they are not as big of a fan as everyone else on this forum, it automatically means the rest of the world will love it. Sadly, it wasn't given proper promotion, which is why it didn't become a big hit WW, but more Lovegame-sized. Applause had sufficient promo. Including over 100m AI. Enough with this "not enough promo" argument. Keyword: WW. In Europe, Applause did not have ANY promo. No radio deal, no performances, no commercial, a radio interview or two. Same with Australia. But yes, generally it's been pretty hard since pretty much 90% of the album is dated. It's the type of EDM that doesn't really fit in the radio, but with proper management and promotion, ARTPOP could be at the very least moderately successful. Mills 446 Posted June 10, 2014 Share Posted June 10, 2014 Pre-perceived belief that this album is "short" of "hits" because of the reception the first two singles had makes it seem "harder" to choose singles from this album. If the commercial reception was completely different though, the choices for the next singles would be rather plenty. At first listen, ARTPOP to me didn't sound really an album with one cohesive theme, but rather a collection of songs meant to be hits at the time of their recording.
