Confusion with the GP and Gaga

When Gaga first emerged on the mainstream market, she exploded. People liked the catchy and fun music, awesome voice, and probably the most significant of all, her fashion and visuals. She would walk red carpets with the most avant grade and crazy fashion, and people commended her for not only dressing extravagant for her performances, but that she would be like that 24/7. Another characteristic they loved was how artistic her shows were. She wasn't just some manufactured pop star. And now, all we hear is how she is just in it for the attention.

I honestly don't understand the change in attitude. What made people contradict themselves?

People have complained about how she is just a gimmick and dresses up for attention for her whole career. People just got oversatturated with Gaga. She can't be on top 24/7.

Flopping in the charts.

I think they're okay with the 'art' stuff but not with the flop era. People might also grew tired of her antics. The fashion, I mean. They were more surprised when she went to the VMAs red carpet looking normal. Gaga just can't shock them with her 'shocking' clothes.

It's not really the GP who have negative opinions about Gaga, it is more the stanbases and the media. :laughga:

The GP was here for Applause and DWUW. They are here for anything "catchy" and "good" that Gaga releases that receives proper promotion and spins on the radio. We are acting like Gaga is more important than she is. She is everything to us, just another voice on the radio to the GP (pretty much). The GP doesn't keep up with popstars the way we do. We aren't the GP. :tea:

Overexposure leads to exhaustion. And that applies to all celebrities, especially in terms of visuals or how they're presented to the public. Let's keep in mind that public interest is also fickle, even more so at this time when anyone could practically become a "celeb" via the use of social media.

Flopping charts = floppy opinions .

The poor opinions are what cause lower chart positions, so this actually isn't the answer.

Which is why I said that. It goes both ways. Poor opinions = flops, and flopping charts = poor opinions.

People believed the negative comments made by some people in the media, even though the critics and journalists were mostly making stuff up.  The public doesn't follow Gaga like we do, and they rely on the media for information.  The negative things they read changed their attitude toward Gaga.  People have no idea that critics were twisting Gaga's words and taking them out of context, and were giving Gaga bad reviews because they had decided to stan for other artists.

I live outside the space time continuum.

the "GP" doesn't have much of a solid opinion of Gaga or any other female pop star

And nobody cares about "charts" except people on forums like these
