I am curious, what do you think of weed smoking in the legal sense? I mean, anybody who smokes illegal substances is a criminal, and if people like Gaga or your local user were arrested, I can easily say "I am unsympathetic bc they knew full well that doing it was illegal." Would you say the same thing to illegal d--g users who also willingly and brazingly break the law? (I am for legalization but im talking about the principle).

Laws are on the books. They don't just pop up out of nowhere. I have absolutely no sympathy for someone who is arrested, tried, and convicted of a crime as long as the law and arrest (along with the seizure of information) are Constitutional. I would entirely agree with the statement "I am unsympathetic bc they knew full well that doing it was illegal" and what could happen to them if caught. If Lady Gaga beaks the law in the US, I'd hope that she would get prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law, just like any other citizen would.

 

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. 

 

This in no way, shape, or form gives away my position on the legalization of weed. I am entirely for the full legalization of pot in all 50 states. However, this does not make it OK for someone to break the law and get away with it. Making weed illegal is not unconstitutional, so states/the federal government can still make it illegal to smoke or sell it.

Oh i thought you said that quote but i think it was someone else but i have a feeling that most smokers, including the ones on GGD will disagree bc of weed's plant-ness and whatnot. And Gaga would def not be prosecuted to the extent of an urban youth but that's another discussion.

Manuel doesn't have said license. Cop gets suspicious, and takes him into custody. Does his research, and realizes that Manuel has no green card. Or visa for that matter

first of all that wasn't the US (the country we are talking about) or claimed land, as 99.9% of the native tribes in the 13 original colonies declared that human can't own land because it doesn't belong to mankind. 

 

Second of all, those attempted illegal immigrants walked into that room themselves. Plus those conditions look a lot better than the ones they were likely trying to escape. Why do we need to feel bad for them?

The law is the law here in the US. If you coming to america means that you break a law, the law will hit back. That's black and white. How is that not reality? Again, if you don't want to sleep on a concrete floor, don't make yourself sleep on a concrete floor.
