Better Voice: Gaga or Beyonce?

Beyoncé has a very powerful and versatile voice, no doubt about it. She's the main reason I got into Destiny's Child back in the day, I just loved her voice. And yes, in terms of range, versatility and vocal technique, she's a better singer than Gaga. But now, for some reason, her voice kind of annoys me. I think Beyoncé is too polished, she wants to sound perfect at all times, there is something almost robotic about her. That's what irks me about Beyoncé, she's always trying to be flawless.

 

Gaga, on the other hand, isn't afraid to show her flaws. She never pretends to be the best singer in the world, she knows she's not, and she's not afraid to let her voice crack and show her vulnerability. That's what I love about Gaga, she doesn't try to be perfect, and she always bares her soul in her songs (like in Dope), and you know she always sings from the heart.

Beyonce is the better singer. As in, she can control her voice a lot better, and her voice is incredibly strong.

BUT gaga has something Beyonce lacks: emotion. Beyonce sings so easily but you don't see the emotion in it. It's just like "I have a strong voice, I'm singing". Gaga is just pure emotion and rawness.

Some like to just say Gaga whenever she's put up against anyone...I think there's a general consensus that Beyonce does in fact have a better voice than Gaga. Doesn't mean Gaga can't sing her butt off either.

Also, I believe that Gaga has a wider range than only three octaves. Think Gypsy at the AMPYA listening party end low note, all the way to her DWUW belts and her flawless falsetto this era. 

 

Gaga also has more emotion, more rage, she's more thorough in my opinion.

Beyonce has a better technique than Gaga, not a better voice. Voice is what was given to you from mother nature and Beyonce has been accused many times for having a very uninteresting voice. You guys just mess the singing ability with the voice. For example Rihanna has one of the most unique voices.and this is what makes her songs unique but her performing abilities are awful. Only good abilities or only a good voice that is not worked are not enough. This is why imho Gaga has a better voice. Beyonce is truly a machine when it comes to singing but her voice is for me as uninteresting as a machine as well.
