I can't understand where Gaga sees ART in ARTPOP besides in its title

Well, like many have already said, Art is subjective. Meaning, that it's different for most everyone, hence "my ARTPOP could mean anything"

So, not to sound harsh, but if you fail to see the art in the music then it's not GaGa's fault, it's just the way you're interpreting it

When will people realise that being artistic doesn't just mean referencing other art or being high brow, it means creating something with deep meaning and beauty.

If you're stuck, check out the Applause video, the G.U.Y. video, the artRAVE release party, the artRAVE Ball, the album artwork, the album itself, the entire I+V photoshoot, the Bubble Dress 2.0, the SwineFest, SXSW, Volantis or any other element of this album era.

Exactly. And it doesn't technically even need to have a "deep" meaning (even though our definition of deepness could also vary depending on our personal preferences). Art is any form of expression through the visual form or anything that displays creative activities, including dance and music. Whether it's a song about having a great time such as Just Dance or a song about Applause, they're all considered as art. It's impossible and plain ignorant to strictly refer something as art from what's not, unless one could argue and prove that something isn't in any way a form of expression.

The music and visuals are ART. I think most of the art portion are in the visuals. If you are wondering specifically about art pieces, some of her outfits were inspired by famous paintings, even a few lyrics were influenced by different sculptures, etc.

I think Gaga feels like her type of performance art is art rather than a typical pop performance that you would see from Katy or Britney. Take SXSW Swine performance, that's the art.

Honestly, anything that someone thinks of and creates is art imo. Gaga created the music, the videos, the tour, the looks, etc. That is all part of her art. She is an artist after all... there isn't anything specific that makes the album art, it just is.

She's been clear all along about the art being visual. She never said she was going bjork. Much of ARTPOP is quite adventurous for a pop album though.

People dragging her for the lack of "art" would be dragging her worse if she released a true art music project that sold 100k copies.

The only artsy songs on ARTPOP are Applause, Venus, Gypsy, Dope, GUY, DWUW, MJH and ARTPOP. The rest is a dated mainstream music.

She said many times that ARTPOP IS A PROJECT. The project refers to all her collaborations who are very artsy. The music itself is POP.

Nobody said she has a song called PICASSO in which she ****s paint.... :awkney:

Wet Fire

The whole album is art. She crafted the music from the deepest corner of her heart.

I think she sees art in the irony of her very own fans unnecessarily dragging ARTPOP through the mud :nails:
