Pure Adrenaline 1,518
Hmm. I don't understand where this notion that there will be drastic "favourable" changes with regards to Gaga is coming from. If the article from Billboard has to be believed, the new CEO has been in full control of the label even long before this announcement, considering he's already the President / COO of the label and the fact that Iovine has been preparing his entry to Apple. It's the same time of the promotional run for G.U.Y., and it's also the time frame wherein Interscope hasn't released a hit single yet as opposed to its rival labels. The last hit they had, I believe, was OneRepublic's Counting Stars. And that was during the first two months of this year. It's also currently the highest-charting single from Interscope on the HOT 100 chart, which has now left the top 20. If these are any indication of how this label is going to be run, I wouldn't say it's promising. But, it's still too early to tell for us to pass judgment. Same goes on whether this new change would benefit Gaga or not. However, if there's one thing certain, Iovine was very vocal of his support for Gaga, something John Janick isn't... yet. Gaga better hurry up and leave with Jimmy when she could .... deark times are coming for Interscope and aint nno body save there ... Gags please hide ur weave I'm scared for u It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
Pure Adrenaline 1,518
Did he really pick the singles? I'm surprised he would ok Judas, I would have thought that would be more of Gaga's choice. I thought it was a collaboration between Gaga herself and multiple people from Interscope? nope .... the lead single Interscope choosed was MTN but Gaga wanted BTW so they let her release BTW but on condition that after that they would pick the singles ... and I think Troy was the one who choosed Judas not Jimmy idk why I just had this kind of memory somewhere that Gaga was talking about Judas and Troy but could be wrong but for sure it wasn't Gaga's desicion The way Gaga wanted the singles from BTW were BTW>MTN>Scheisse>TEOG but sadly that never happened  It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
Edge 0
G.U.Y. or Gypsy should have been the lead single Really omg there's already someone who thinks G.U.Y. is a good choice as a single
ReRe 1,957
He did give us Applause and G.U.Y. He aslo okayed Venus. Troy ****ed up, not him this. The unnecessary hate for Jimmy in this thread and the pointless blaming him for Gaga's 'downfall' is just crap..
LetsGetHigh 52,683
Thank god!! He ruined her career, i hope gaga will choose her singles from now on. Ruined her career? if anything he saved her career by picking Applause as the lead single.

Yeah, it sounds like he was gradually phased in. According to this article from November, the new guy worked with her on ARTPOP, and I guess they've already established a working relationship: http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09607m01Interscope President/COO John Janick reportedly has Gaga’s ear. He built a strong relationship with her during the recording process and speaks to her on a regular basis. It was Janick as much as anyone who was responsible for keeping the ship on course through some recent choppy waters. Also this too: http://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/legal-and-management/5770454/q4-label-special-interscopes-john-janick-on-eminemEminem and Gaga are coming, obviously -- Eminem has three records in the iTunes top 15 right now, and that feels great. And Gaga just finished her album and it’s spectacular. She’s such a talented person and every song -- there’s so much diversity on the album that it all fits together. And obviously we feel with both of those artists [are] gonna carry over into the next year. So we’ll have a great first quarter but also a strong 2014.Sounds like he ~believed in ARTPOP. :emo: Hopefully he'll hook her up with some good A&R for the next one. Hmm. Curunir 7,510
This tbh The only questionable decision being made pre-Judas was TFM only having 3 singles. Monster would have slayed i'd rather have less singles but perfect ones, instead of more singles which aren't single material
Haroon 49,685
"the most successful head of a major label for the last 25 years." wow I had no idea that he was that big, like I thought that guy from X Factor or Jay-Z or someone were bigger It's sad I guess because he's someone Gaga was close to (it seems) I wish him the best in his new endeavours with Apple
