Whispering

When I said that I hope Gaga gets back on track soon I didn't refer to her bronchitis!! That may happen to anyone!! Laryngitis too. I meant that I hope she will be soon in control of her life and her career ( that is no more d--gs, no more depression, no more blaming others for your own mistakes, no more unhealthy and self-destructive behaviors)

Eh...the majority of individuals in this world struggle with depression, their own personal demons and unhealthy decisions or behaviors at different times in their life. Artists and entertainers are not exceptions.

Gaga is on track. She is on a worldwide tour, that is doing very well. Her personal life is happy and stable, with her family, friends and a committed long-term relationship. She has come back from a major physical injury (that can often sideline professional atheletes) to dance and perform several times a week!

You don't have to worry ;) ... Gaga is back on track!

Guys, you shouldn't think about what this is gonna do to gaga's career, but to the industry. Think about it. Apple buying beats and Jimmy joining them. In an interview with him years ago, he talked about the future of music and streaming, and now that apple owns beats, they're probably gonna transform iTunes into some sort of streaming-service.

That's actually what is gonna happen…..

Don't know, but it seems that streaming is the future of music. Apple was the first to sell digital albums on ITUNEs and it revolutionized the industry. When Beyonce released her last album online only, I read that Apple was planning to act in the future like a record label too, signing artists (and then deciding the way to market the product)…. ….and considering  the decrease in cd sales and - in 2013- also in digital album sales, Apple might decide to market its own (future) artists only (or mostly) through streaming….

Of course this is just my humble opinion. I might be absolutely wrong!

Born Brave

Jimmy Iovine recognized Gaga's creativity and ability to bring something new to the table to a stale market. Bless his heart and we all owe him a great deal of respect. He will be missed by me for sure.

Applause was the best choice and did really good. I don't think any of the other songs would have done better. Especially Venus. So thank God he chose it.

He decided to make Applause the lead... and one of Gaga's friend inside Interscope, it's kinda sad really

Imo this will likely be a VERY VERY bad thing unless she gets herself a good team!

Jimmy and her had the same goals for Gaga's career.

Right cuz climbing your way up performing in every night club in New York and crafting music that the underground deemed too pop, the pop world deemed too theater and theater deemed not theater enough and getting your first three albums nominated for album of the year in a row and performing over 300 shows in three years around the world to the point that you literally BREAK your hip on stage at the age of 27...not very disciplined.

Disciplined and hard working are different things.

Just look at Gaga's unprofessional behavior. (Ignoring multiple deadlines, leaving people in the dark (not fans, but things like Vevo), "shade", etc) She still has a job to do. Her job is to be a huge, edgy pop star and to make bank. She's not been doing any of it aside from the tour. When people say "she can do what she wants, because she is the artist!!1!1" it shows how little some people understand about Gaga's career and the industry.

It's in now way all her fault, but her pointing fingers at everyone but herself for ARTPOP's disappointment is childish.

But I think she knows this and wants to get it together for the next album. This news is worrisome for that though.

Has he actually said "I chose the singles" or is it just what Gaga's said?

Why do you assume thats what Gaga said though? I don't remember her ever claiming that he chose her singles for her.

You don't understand everything about Gagas career. You don't understand everything about her period. You don't understand nearly jack **** about the industry. You're nothing more than another young gay guy on the internet with an opinion.

She doesn't solely point her fingers at everyone else, the fans take what she says and create their own theories and truths and other fans perpetuate it until everyone is lazy and just assumes in their heads that everything is factual. Shes been somewhat vocal this era about members of her team playing roles in her career. How is it at all fair for you to patronize other people for assuming things then proceed to just assume that she holds no responsibility for her own actions just because shes adult enough to recognize that other people also play their roles in her career?

And exactly what should she even be owning up to or apologizing for? She made an okay album that did okay and the media ran with its fine-ness and put a negative spin on it because shes Lady Gaga and it wasn't phenom status. That doesn't mean she has anything to own up to or apologize for. I get that you're frustrated with how she chooses to market herself or whatever because I get the same way. But what you fail to realize and I often as well, is that we project our frustrations onto her without thinking about how **** actually is. Shes a pop artist that made an album that did whatever, music labels are notoriously annoying, and she constantly gets lashings from every angle. She has a lot to deal with, she tries her best, she can work on a lot of things, i dont think she blames everyone else. Nothing is one dimensional.

She made an okay album and everyone was hard on it because they're hard on her because she was huge and everyone including her had astronomically high expectations for her career and it set her up to be taken down a few notches and shes clearly not so strong that it didnt affect her. To me the music on ARTPOP was fine enough by commercial pop standards, but as a whole it was a very self conscious effort in both concept and execution. Hopefully the next album is better, but I think you and a lot of people tend to exaggerate how disappointing this album actually is. Its not top of her game, but its not bad and its certainly not embarrassing. Its performance and its reception is a reflection of how people view her more than a reflection of the quality of content. As far as the music goes its a B- at worst.
